Secure friction retained denture
11684459 · 2023-06-27 ·

A feature for retaining a denture on dental implants is shown and described. An anchor for receiving prongs is threaded to each of one or more implants in the mouth. A denture having prong passages is placed onto jaw bone or overlying tissue, above the implant. The anchor occupies an opening in the denture. With the denture in place and with the prong passages aligned with prong reception sites of the anchor, a pronged denture connector is installed such that the prongs pass through the prong passages of the denture and penetrate the prong reception sites of the anchor. The prongs are frictionally secured in place by an elastic member lining the prong passages of the denture and constricting over inserted prongs. The denture may comprise synthetic resin reinforced by a metallic reinforcing bar.

An abutment for implant including a cap with a strengthened occlusal force with an artificial tooth according to the present invention includes: a base having a coupling hole with a screw thread formed in a height direction; and a cap including a cap body that is threaded with the base and a cap head that is located on an upper portion of the cap body and exposed to the upper portion of the base and has a larger diameter than the cap body.

Dental implant

A dental implant is provided, wherein the dental implant includes a dental root implant. The dental root implant forms a columnar body, and two ends thereof have a tubular portion and a joint portion, respectively, wherein the tubular portion is provided with a plurality of through holes. A central groove is formed inside the tubular portion and communicates with the through holes, wherein an inner diameter of the central groove tapers from approaching the joint portion to away from the joint portion. The joint portion can be coupled to a dental crown, and the tubular portion can be coupled to a human alveolar bone. The through holes can facilitate an osseointegration of the dental root implant in the alveolar bone.

Apparatus and methods for adjustably retaining an oral appliance to an abutment assembly are disclosed. In one variation, a securement apparatus can comprise a sleeve having a sleeve frame and a number of locking flaps. The sleeve can define a lumen therethrough for positioning upon an abutment assembly. The locking flaps can have varying length dimensions and can project radially inward or outward relative to the sleeve frame. The outward flaps can lock against surface features defined along an inner surface of a coping coupled to the oral appliance and the inward flaps can lock against surface features defined along a portion of the abutment assembly. The sleeve can release the oral appliance from the abutment assembly when the locking flaps of the sleeve are actuated by an actuation unit.

Fixed hybrid dental attachment device and methods of use

A frictionally-retained detachable dental anchor device is provided for adjustably attaching a dental appliance with a tooth root or implant. The dental anchor device includes a cap secured in the dental appliance, an abutment attached with a tooth root or implant, and a compressible retention member with a first end in fixed attachment with the cap and a second end in snap engagement with the abutment via a frictionally-retained ball secured within a cavity of the abutment. The retention member is formed using a compressible material to allow the ball to compress and the retention member to flex while inserting the ball into the cavity. Additional friction-retained and fixed attachment configurations of the dental anchor device are provided, along with methods of securing a dental appliance in a subject's mouth by means of the friction-retained and fixed attachment dental anchor devices.

Passive fit of implant bridges and implant bars by means of a CAD/CAM tool for the model-free creation of implant-supported restorations
11259903 · 2022-03-01 · ·

The invention relates to a specimen part for creating a stress-free fit, a so-called passive fit, of implant-supported and/or abutment-supported bridges and bars by means of a CAD/CAM tool for the creation of restorations, and to a method for creating a restoration from a digital model of a patient's jaw provided with at least two implants and/or abutments. The model is determined by means of an intraoral scan. In order to improve the precision of restorations and to shorten the production process, provision is made that the specimen part per implant and/or abutment has a scannable structure, preferably at a defined distance and angle to the implant and/or abutment.

A method of using a dental filler is disclosed. The method may include securing a prosthetic to a dental implant, the prosthetic having an access channel therethrough. The method may also include filling a portion of the access channel by inserting a polytetrafluoroethylene dental plug into the access channel and compressing the polytetrafluoroethylene dental plug within the access channel.

CONTROL GUIDE FOR CHECKING PLACEMENT OF AT LEAST TWO DENTAL ELEMENTS

A computer-implemented method includes obtaining a digital 3D representation of a patient's jaw comprising a first and second target location, providing a digital first dental element and a digital second element, respectively being digital 3D representations of a first dental element for placement on the first target location and a second dental element for placement on the second target location, arranging the digital first dental element on the digital representation of the first target location and the digital second dental element on the digital representation of the second target location, determining contact surfaces of the first and second dental element based on an insertion direction of the digital control guide design, and generating a digital control guide design comprising a digital 3D representation of the gum facing surface of the control guide based on a part of the contact surfaces of both the at least first and second dental element.

Methods, apparatuses, computer programs, and systems for creating a custom dental prosthesis using a CAD/CAM system

Digital design and/or fabrication of a dental prosthesis that includes a gingiva part having retention pockets and corresponding injection channels that extend from the retention pockets to an exterior of the gingiva part. The positioning of a matrix mated to a ball attachment of a dental implant is fixed in the retention pocket by injection of a curable adhesive through the injection channels and into the retention pockets. The location of the retention pockets and the injection channels may be automatically generated by a computer-aided design/computer-assisted manufacturing (CAD/CAM) system. The gingiva part including the retention pockets and injection channels can further be designed and fabricated by the CAD/CAM system.

Dental prosthesis with sealed attachment interface and cleaning fluid access thereto

A dental prosthesis has a gum sealing rim that snugly contacts the patient's gum. The cavity formed within the gum sealing rim is accessed by through holes via which a pressurized cleaning fluid may be injected into the cavity. The cleaning fluid swirls around and washes of bacteria and deposits. Through a number of cleaning fluid drains, the cleaning fluid exits again the cavity. An additional drain blocker may be configured such that it blocks the cleaning fluid drains while it is clamped by the patient between the teeth. The resulting pressure build up in the cavity causes the cleaning fluid to squeeze out and clean the sealing interface between the gum sealing rim and the patient's gum.
