Deodorizing waste receptacle
A deodorizing waste receptacle for disposal of soiled adult diapers includes a housing. The housing comprises an annular wall that is coupled to and extends upwardly from a bottom to define both a top and an internal space. A funnel is coupled to the housing and positioned in the internal space. A drawer is insertable into a lower chamber of the housing through an opening in the housing. A lid is reversibly and sealably couplable to the top to cover an aperture. An actuator is coupled to the housing positioned to motivate the lid between a closed to an open configuration. A plunger, which is coupled to the lid, is configured to compressibly motivate a soiled diaper through the funnel into the drawer. Deodorizers and dispensers are positioned in the housing to absorb and mask, respectively, odiferous gasses generated by soiled diapers positioned in the internal space.
TRASH CAN ASSEMBLY
Various trash can assembly embodiments are disclosed. In some embodiments, the trash can assembly includes a body and a lid assembly. The lid assembly can include a lid, and a multicomponent trim ring. The lid assembly can be rotatably connected with the body via a hinge unit. In certain embodiments, a flange of the trim ring is guided into and/or received into the hinge unit. A translating pin of the hinge unit can engage into the flange, thereby providing a rotatable connection between the trim ring and the body. In various embodiments, the translating pin is coupled with a handle to facilitate movement of the pin by a user during engagement of the trim ring and the hinge unit. A positioner can help to position the trash can against or adjacent to a wall or other structure. The movement of both the trim ring and the lid can be dampened.
TRASH CAN
A trash can having a frame, a liner, and a lid. The frame includes a base and a casing supported on the base. The liner is removably disposed within a cavity of the casing and has a bottom that rests directly on the base in the cavity. The lid is coupled to and rotatable relative to the frame between a closed position, in which the liner is concealed, and an open position, in which the liner is accessible.
TRASH CAN
A trash can that includes a frame, a liner, a lid, and a bag cover. The frame has a base and a casing supported on the base. The liner is removably disposed within a cavity of the casing. The lid is coupled to and rotatable relative to the frame between a closed position, in which the liner is concealed, and an open position, in which the liner is accessible. The bag cover is coupled to the frame and rotatable relative to the frame and the lid between a closed position, in which a top of the liner is concealed and the bag cover prevents the liner from being removed from the casing, and an open position, in which the top of the liner is accessible and the liner is removable from the cavity of the casing.
RECEPTACLE FOR WASTE MATERIAL
A receptacle for waste material is disclosed. The receptacle may comprise a cabinet/structure with a hinged/flip door actuated by an actuator such as a foot plate/pedal. Items of waste material may be deposited into the receptacle (e.g. in a hands-free action) through an opening at the flip door actuated from a closed position toward an open position by movement of the foot pedal from a default position to an actuated position. The receptacle may comprise an actuation mechanism such as a linkage/link assembly coupling the flip door to the foot pedal; the mechanism may be configured to shield/cover the linkage from contact with items of waste material. The link/link assembly may comprise a rigid member such as a rod coupled to the side of the flip door and the side of the foot pedal (or to each side of the flip door and the foot pedal). Actuation/action of the flip door with the mechanism may be modified by design/configuration of the foot plate/pedal and design/configuration of the flip door. An internal bin or liner may be provided within the receptacle.
Receptacle with low friction and low noise motion damper for lid
A receptacle having a lid can be provided with a pair of dampers configured to slow the movement of the lid from its open position toward its closed position. The dampers can be provided at opposite ends of a pedal connected to the receptacle body at opposite lateral positions relative to a side of the receptacle body. In some embodiments, the damper is configured to be high endurance and low noise. For example, the damper may comprise lubricants, such as a graphite powder. The damper may also comprise a mechanism, such as foam infused with graphite powder, to disperse the lubricant over time. The damper may also employ surface features or noise dampening features in its housings to prevent or reduce noise.
Air-ventilated trash container system
An air-ventilated trash container suitable for supporting a collapsible trash bag having an open-top hollow container body that includes an integrated sidewall joined to a closed bottom is provided. The integrated sidewall includes an upright inner sidewall configured with a plurality of upper air release orifices and a plurality of laterally spaced apart, generally vertical ribs disposed extending outwardly from the inner sidewall. The ribs define between themselves a plurality of narrow channels that extend longitudinally to provide a passage during bag installation for the escape of air trapped between the inner sidewall, during bag filling to allow the bag to fully expand, and during bag removal to prevent the formation of a vacuum that would tend to cause the retention of the bag inside the container.
Method and apparatus for preventing mold growth in the reservoir of a food waste recycling appliance
A method and apparatus for operating a food waste recycling appliance includes a food waste recycling container, a condensate reservoir, a first fluid pathway fluidly coupling the food waste recycling chamber and the condensate reservoir, and a fan moving air from the food waste recycling chamber to the condensate reservoir along the first fluid pathway to define a first airflow.
