Safety switch mechanism for a conveyor system

A safety switch mechanism for use on a conveyor system includes a lever adapted for pivotal attachment to a non-moving part of the conveyor system. A non-contact safety switch has a first switch part attached the lever and a second switch part fixed relative to the lever. The safety switch has an open position where the first switch part is angularly offset from the second switch part relative to a lever pivot axis and a closed position where the first switch part is aligned with the second switch part. A trigger block is adapted for attachment to a moving part of the conveyor system. The lever is configured as a pendulum and in an equilibrium position of the lever the safety switch is in the open position. The trigger block is configured to contact and pivot the lever moving the safety switch from the open position to the closed position.

A barrel rolling safety device and a method relating to using the barrel safety rolling device are disclosed herein. The barrel safety rolling device includes a base plate having a plurality of apertures, a stopping arm having at least a first end, a second end, and a stopping arm aperture, and a pin having at least a removal ring. Each of the apertures may be configured to receive the pin, and one or more bushings allow the stopping arm to rotate between various positions based on which aperture of the apertures receives the pin. In various embodiments, the stopping arm may allow a barrel to traverse a dunnage in a first direction, but prevent the barrel from traversing the dunnage in a second direction. In various embodiments, the stopping arm may prevent the barrel from traversing the rack in both the first direction and second direction.

Anchor trolley and fall arrest system and method implementing the same
10617897 · 2020-04-14 · ·

A fall arrest system for arresting the fall of a user. The system may arrest movement of a worker after falling from an elevated work surface. The system may include a rail; a trolley having a body in rollable contact with the rail, a brake sub-system, and a plurality of wheels. The brake sub-system may include a brake rod, a brake pad connected to the brake rod, a lanyard connector connected to the brake rod, and a resilient element. The brake rod may be slidably coupled to the body so that the brake sub-system is alterable between: (1) a free state in which the brake pad is spaced a distance above the rail; and (2) an arrest state in which at least a portion of the brake pad frictionally engages the rail. The resilient element may bias the brake sub-system into the free state.
