Method for pre-operative visualization of instrumentation used with a surgical guide for dental implant placement
The invention relates to manufacturing a surgical guide to be placed in a patient's mouth. The patient's mouth is scanned to obtain surgical-region scan data at a region where an implant is to be located. The patient's mouth is also scanned in the opened position to acquire dental conditions opposite from the surgical region to obtain opposing-condition scan data. A virtual model is developed using the surgical-region scan data and the opposing-condition scan data. Using the virtual model, a surgical plan is developed that includes the location of the implant to be installed in the patient. A virtual surgical guide is also developed based on the surgical plan. The dimensions of instrumentation to be used with the surgical guide are checked to ensure they will fit within the mouth by use of the opposing-condition scan data. After checking, final surgical-guide manufacturing information is obtained for manufacturing the surgical guide.
OPERATIONAL SYSTEM ON A WORKPIECE AND METHOD THEREOF
The present invention provides an ergonomic operational system and method thereof for a human operator such as a dental surgeon in image guided implantation. A physical or virtual display in close proximity to, or integrated with, the dental drill shows the information that demands a high frequency of observation from the surgeon. The surgeon is thus able to monitor the drilling site and the display at the same time, without moving his head toward other display not within his field of view. The invention exhibits numerous technical merits such as simplicity of operation, improved operational safety, higher productivity, and enhanced efficiency, among others.
DEVICES FOR CONDUCTING SUBPERIOSTEAL MINIMALLY INVASIVE AESTHETIC JAW BONE GRAFTING AUGMENTATION AND THEIR USE
Devices for carrying out subperiosteal minimally invasive jaw bone augmentation and reconstruction procedures, to develop a passageway and surgical site in a concealed area of patient tissue, where the surgical site is not exposed. The devices have shanks with specially configured tips to facilitate maneuvering the device through mammalian tissue to develop a tunnel in the tissue and a remote surgical site within the tissue. The device tips have one or more peripheral cutting surfaces that direct the positioning of the tunnel formation when the instrument handle is manipulated, e.g., by rotation, angular, forward or rearward motion. Embodiments of the devices are configured with tips that have a wide spread for cutting and elevating tissue, and with tips that may be maneuvered to condense bone graft material being implanted at a surgical site concealed within the tissue.
Angulated dental implant
A dental implant includes a generally cylindrical body, an interior bore, and a non-rotational feature. The generally cylindrical body has a main-central axis and is formed from cold-worked, high strength, commercially pure titanium having an ultimate tensile strength of at least about 900 MPa. The generally cylindrical body has a proximal portion and an opposing distal portion for anchoring the dental implant in bone of a patient. The interior bore is formed in the generally cylindrical body and has (i) a bore-central axis and (ii) a threaded portion for receiving a screw that is configured to removable hold an abutment in engagement with the dental implant. The non-rotational feature is configured to engage the abutment in a non-rotational fashion.
DENTAL IMPLANT SYSTEM
A dental implant whereby an osteotomy cavity is formed in jawbone and then a base member of the implant is positioned into the cavity. The base member serves as a platform to secure an abutment member of the implant that in turn receives a dental restoration, such as a crown or denture.
Guided drill, kit of guided drills and methods of osteotomy for inserting a dental implant using the kit
A guided drill for osteotomy for a dental implant is provided. The guided drill includes a guide body configured to fit within a guide sleeve attached to a surgical template. A surgical kit includes a series of guided drills with each guided drill having a different combination of a drilling diameter and a drilling length, a container containing the series of guided drills in a form of an array, and a chart comprising a map of the array and graphical indications. The graphical indications are configured to indicate to a user of the surgical kit a suggested order of sequentially using the series of guided drills from the array to perform a part of osteotomy procedure and obtain a hole, having a prescribed diameter and a prescribed length, for a dental implant.
Centric relation bite registration tool
The centric relation bite registration tool is a tool for recording the centric relation of a patient's mandible in order to obtain proper occlusion to fabricate a full mouth fixed dental prosthesis. The centric relation bite registration tool includes both a vertically adjustable portion and a horizontally adjustable portion. The vertically adjustable portion is adapted for mounting in a dental implant in the patient's mandibular arch, and the horizontally adjustable portion is adapted for mounting in a dental implant in the patient's maxillary arch. The vertically adjustable portion and the horizontally adjustable portion are releasably secured to one another between the mandibular and maxillary arches providing a single tool which is both horizontally and vertically adjustable for recordation of the proper occlusion between the patient's mandible and maxilla.
Fixture, a thread maker and a fixture set
The invention relates to a fixture, such as a dental fixture, for insertion into a bore hole arranged in bone tissue. The fixture has two condensation portions, which may be designed to provide the same or different tensile strain levels to the cortical and cancellous bone tissue, respectively. The invention also relates to a thread maker for making a female thread in bone tissue prior to insertion of a fixture. The invention further relates to a fixture set, having a thread maker and a fixture.
DENTAL COMPONENT AND A DENTAL IMPLANT
The invention relates to a dental component, such as an abutment, an abutment replica, an abutment blank, a customized abutment, a scan abutment, a digital transfer coping, an impression pick-up element, a healing cap or a driver, comprises a first indexing element and at least two second indexing elements having apical ends located apically of the apical end of said first indexing element. The invention also relates to a dental implant which comprises a dental component having first and second indexing elements and a fixture having third and fourth indexing elements, wherein the first and third indexing elements can only engage with each other after the second and fourth indexing elements have engaged with each other. The invention also relates to a fixture.
