Female part for forming a releasable connection to a male part that is configured to be fastened in the mouth

The female part for forming a releasable connection to a male part (50) that is configured to be fastened in a mouth includes a housing (20), which is configured to be fastened to a dental prosthesis, an insert (1), which is insertable into the housing and rotatable with respect to the housing and in which a portion (51) of the male part can be accommodated, and an adjusting mechanism that is formed in the housing and on the insert and that cause a change in the diameter of the insert when the insert is rotated with respect to the housing. At least one protrusion (5b, 5c) and at least one recess are provided to form the adjusting mechanism. The female part has a locking mechanism, which is formed on the housing and in the insert for defining discretely arranged locking positions, wherein the insert is compressed more in at least one locking position than in at least one other locking position.

The present invention relates to a bridge style dental prosthetic for replacing multiple lost or damaged teeth. More specifically, the present invention relates to an appliance comprising a base made of a first non-compressive material that is indefinitely affixed to the patient's jaw and a dentition portion that is made of a second compressive material and is removably affixed to the base portion, thus allowing restoration and/or replacement of the dentition portion without the need to remove and/or replace the base portion. The invention may include a dentition channel adapted to receive and removably secure the dentition to the base. The invention may also include a post disposed in the lower surface of the dentition that is received by an opening in the distal surface of the base to removably secure the dentition to the base.

Various implementations include a threaded implant. The threaded implant includes an implant body having an external thread on an external surface of the implant body. The implant body includes an upper portion with an open ceiling configured to receive one or more injectable bone inducing agents, a middle portion defining a hollow inner channel, and a lower portion with a closed floor. The hollow inner channel extends from the open ceiling to the closed floor. The middle portion defines one or more side openings extending from the hollow inner channel, rotating in a helix-like shape in a same direction as that of a plurality of turns of the external thread. The dimensions of the side openings are of sizes designed to enable bone and bone tissue ingrowth into the hollow inner channel and bone and bone tissue outgrowth from the hollow inner channel to the surrounding bone.

Dental implant evaluation unit

A dental implant evaluation unit is disclosed and described. The dental implant evaluation includes a body portion having threads that mimic the general thread pattern of an actual dental implant, without attempting to copy any of the osseointegrative features of the actual implant. A threaded collar is associated with the body portion, and, in certain embodiments, a safety flange is screwed to the threaded collar. The safety flange prevents the dental implant evaluation unit from infiltrating the sinus of a patient when testing the fit of a maxillary implant. The dental implant evaluation unit can be used by a dentist to evaluate the proper size and fit for an actual dental implant by installing the dental implant evaluation unit, and imaging the same, prior to installing the actual dental implant.

Universal digital dental implant scanning code and method
09901425 · 2018-02-27 ·

A universal digital implant scanning code (UDDISC) is provided on a dental implant body and/or any device attached to the dental implant body (e.g., the dental implant carrier). Implant bodies and platforms are available in many different types of sizes and configurations from many different companies. The UDDISC allows for an immediate digital scan of the dental implant in relationship to the patient's dentition.

Methods and apparatus for transmitting vibrations

Methods and apparatus for transmitting vibrations via an electronic and/or transducer assembly through a tooth or teeth are disclosed herein. The assembly may be attached, adhered, or otherwise embedded into or upon a removable oral appliance to form a hearing aid assembly. Such an oral appliance may be a custom-made device. The electronic and transducer assembly may receive incoming sounds either directly or through a receiver to process and amplify the signals and transmit the processed sounds via a vibrating transducer element coupled to a tooth or other hone structure, such as the maxillary, mandibular, or palatine bone structure.

The apparatus and methods disclosed utilize a healing assembly including a prosthetic shoe and a healing sleeve that, when used in mating combination, allow the radiographic capture of the prosthetic shoe as it relates to the dental implant surface(s) and the exact orientation of the final prosthetic tooth set-up to provide all information required in one step, for final CAD/CAM of the final fixed implant supported prosthetic bridge.

MATERIAL PROPERTY MONITORING AND DETECTION USING WIRELESS DEVICES

Embodiments of the present invention provide devices (tags with sensors), systems, and methods to determine states (such as, but not limited to, complex impedance) of materials-of-interest, such as tissue-of-interest, implants, and construction members, to name a few, in a non-invasive and contactless way; and using comparatively safe and/or low energy electromagnetic radiation, such as radio waves. Negligible-sized wireless-tags with sensors are implanted in such materials-of-interest. Using wireless communication and imaging technology, the states of the materials-of-interest may be monitored; which may allow non-invasive and contactless detection of problems such as cracking, bending, excessive pressure, improper temperature, and/or the like. Additionally, initially unknown locations of the implanted negligible-sized wireless-tags with sensors may be readily determined upon a given scanning (reading) session; and thus mapped to provide an effective image of the material-of-interest.
