Systems and method for fabrication of dental appliances are provided. An example method includes receiving data identifying approximate locations of individual teeth in a three-dimensional digital dental model representing an impressioned position of a patient's dentition. The example method may also include generating component models corresponding to individual teeth for each of the identified approximate locations. The component models may be disposed at initial positions based on the impressioned position of the patient's dentition. The example method also includes determining target positions for the component models and generating a tooth-positioning appliance design based on the determined target positions for the component models. The method may also include causing a tooth-positioning appliance to be fabricated based on the tooth-positioning appliance design.

Method for pre-operative visualization of instrumentation used with a surgical guide for dental implant placement

The invention relates to manufacturing a surgical guide to be placed in a patient's mouth. The patient's mouth is scanned to obtain surgical-region scan data at a region where an implant is to be located. The patient's mouth is also scanned in the opened position to acquire dental conditions opposite from the surgical region so as to obtain opposing-condition scan data. A virtual model is developed using the surgical-region scan data and the opposing-condition scan data. Using the virtual model, a surgical plan is developed that includes the location of the implant to be installed in the patient. A virtual surgical guide is also developed based on the surgical plan. The dimensions of instrumentation to be used with the surgical guide are checked to ensure they will fit within the mouth by use of the opposing-condition scan data. After checking, final surgical-guide manufacturing information is obtained for manufacturing the surgical guide.

HYBRID METHOD OF ACQUIRING 3D DATA USING INTRAORAL SCANNER
20210322138 · 2021-10-21 ·

A method for imaging a region of interest of patient dentition acquires an intraoral scan and forms a 3D digital model of a first surface contour of patient dentition that includes the region of interest and acquires a physical impression that includes at least the region of interest. The method scans the physical impression and generates a second surface contour of the identified region of interest. The digital model is modified by combining a portion of the second surface contour with the first surface contour over the region of interest. The modified digital model is displayed.

Systems and methods for personalized oral care

Described herein are systems and methods for providing personalized oral care. A system for oral care comprises an oral insert. The oral insert is sized and shaped according to a user's oral cavity, and has a plurality of fluid nozzles and an effluence conduit to channel fluid out of the user's oral cavity. Pressurized fluid provided through the nozzles are directed to, for example, the interproximal spaces between the user's teeth. In some variations, a system comprises an oral insert and an elastomeric substrate that is attached to the oral insert. In some variations, the elastomeric substrate comprises a textured surface vibrates and/or mechanically agitates and/or translates along the surface of the user's teeth. In some variations, a system for oral care comprises a microbiome collection chamber. Some variations comprise dental shim devices that are used for acquiring oral structure data and alignment between the upper and lower arches.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DIGITAL TOOTH IMAGING

Method and system for managing multiple impressions of a patient's jaw for an orthodontic treatment are provided. The method includes scanning at least a first impression and a second impression of the same jaw for the orthodontic treatment; determining if the first jaw impression and the second jaw impression have distortion in different areas; selecting the first jaw impression or the second jaw impression as a base impression; and replacing distorted tooth data from the base impression with data for the same tooth from a non-base impression. The method also includes scanning at least a first jaw impression for the orthodontic treatment; scanning a bite impression for the orthodontic treatment; matching the scanned first jaw impression with the scanned bite impression; comparing bite information with a tooth occlusal surface; and determining if reconstruction is to be performed on the tooth occlusal surface.

DENTAL IMPRESSION KIT AND METHODS THEREFOR

A method of administering the contents of a dental impression kit. The method includes sending a dental impression kit to a user, receiving one or more photos of the user's mouth, the one or more photos having been taken while the dental appliance is positioned at least partially within the user's mouth, receiving the initial dental impression created by the user by administering the initial dental assembly, and receiving the redundant dental impression created by the user by administering the redundant dental assembly. The initial dental impression and the redundant dental impression provide information necessary to manufacture a plurality of dental aligners specific to the user and being configured to reposition one or more teeth of the user.

Dental tray molding kit and method for dental molding

A dental tray molding kit for making a custom dental tray includes a generic tray, a thermoformable member removably insertable into the generic tray and a deformable spacer member placeable onto the thermoformable material and bitable by the user upon placement of the spacer member onto the thermoformable member in the user's mouth. The generic tray may be a rigid carrier tray and the kit may include a partially deformable member placed between the rigid carrier tray and the thermoformable member. A method for dental tray molding includes providing a generic tray, heating a thermoformable member until sufficiently pliable, placing the thermoformable member over the generic tray, placing a deformable spacer member over the thermoformable member, applying a biting force from a user onto the thermoformable member through the deformable spacer member, cooling the thermoformable member and separating the thermoformable member, whereby the thermoformable member forms a custom dental tray.

Dental operation-guiding structure and method for producing the same
11076941 · 2021-08-03 ·

A dental operation-guiding structure includes a bite plate, a marking plate, and at least one connection frame connecting the bite plate and the marking plate. The bite plate is occluded by lower and upper teeth of a human body. The marking plate includes a plate body and at least one window penetrating the plate body. The plate body is adjacent to a tissue surface, and the windows defines a position to be operated. By occluding the dental operation-guiding structure, practical positions, patterns and ranges for the operation can be easily defined. The method for producing the dental operation-guiding structure overlaps a 3D bone image of a target object onto a 3D teeth-mold image thereof to obtain a reconstructed 3D image including clear contours of bones and soft tissues, bases on the reconstructed 3D image to design the dental operation-guiding structure, and finally produces the dental operation-guiding structure by 3D printing.
