High efficiency conveyor assembly

Material processing apparatus (20) includes a housing (22) with a plurality of vertically stacked inverting pan conveyors (42, 44) therein. Each conveyor (42, 44) includes a plurality of conveyor pans (50) traveling between and around aligned front and rear sprocket pairs (90, 92) to define upper and lower conveyor runs (52, 54). Each pan (50) has a perforated base plate (56) presenting a pair of opposed material-supporting surfaces (58, 60). As the pans (50) traverse the sprocket pairs (90, 92), they are inverted, and material (110) carried by the upper run pans (50) is transferred to the lower run pans (50) by passage of the material around and/or between the sprocket pair (90).

An overhead conveying device for an order-picking system comprises a support structure such as a guide rail, a transport carrier movable on the support structure for transporting a hanging article, and a drive device for moving the transport carrier on the support structure. The transport carrier can have a drive wheel coupled to a motor, an energy source connected to the motor, a holding force generator by means of which the transport carrier movably adheres to the support structure, and/or a driving control and a writably and readably configured memory connected thereto. The overhead conveying device can further have a diverter with a diverter element which is movable vertically to a level of a running surface of the guide rail or away from it.

A carrier basket support and stabilizing system for a carrier basket having increased weight carrying capacity is provided. The system includes a plurality of cars configured to travel along a pathway, with at least some support groups including two of the cars having a carrier basket support connected thereto. The carrier basket support has a support plate connected to the first car via a pivoting connection and connected to the second car by a pivoting and sliding connection such that the cars can pivot relative to the support plate and a distance between the first and second cars can change during traversal of curves along the pathway. A support connection on the support plate is configured for connection to a mating connection on a back support of the carrier basket to allow pivoting of the carrier basket so its support surface can remain generally horizontal during movement on the pathway.

When items of clothing are transported in a state suspended on transport brackets through laundries and also manufacturing plants, the transport brackets with the items of clothing suspended thereon must occasionally be rotated or turned in order to be able to read data carriers of the items of clothing and/or the transport brackets or to orientate all the transport brackets with the items of clothing suspended thereon in an identical manner. To this end, at least one apparatus which is integrated in the respective conveyor path for rotating items of clothing suspended on transport brackets is used.
