Cone-beam computer tomography system for providing probe trace fiducial-free oral cavity tracking
11510638 · 2022-11-29 · ·

A method for referencing a tracking system's coordinate frame to a rigid body's coordinate frame is disclosed. The method involves obtaining a 3D model depicting some of the surfaces of the rigid body. A probe is provided with an affixed tracking reference component. A second tracking reference component is attached to the rigid body. The method involves tracking locations of the probe as it moves along surfaces of the rigid body and then determining a transform that relates the probe locations to the 3D model of the rigid body. In one embodiment the rigid body is a dental mandible or maxilla of a patient and the 3D model is a surface extracted from a computed tomography image of the patient's jaw and teeth.

Method of establishing upper boundary for dental prosthetic
11510763 · 2022-11-29 · ·

A method is used to provide a dental prosthetic with an upper boundary that cannot be seen when a patient smiles with the dental prosthetic installed. The method includes tracing a smile line on a dental appliance while the dental appliance is in the patient's mouth and while the patient is smiling. The method then includes transferring that smile line from the dental appliance to a study cast of the patient's mouth. The study cast is then scanned to create a three-dimensional digital model that includes the transferred smile line. The three-dimensional digital model is used to generate a surgical plan and surgical hardware for installation of the dental prosthetic. The dental prosthetic may include a full arch restoration.

Transparent, Fracture-Tough Polymerization Resins For The Production Of Dental Shaped Bodies

Radically polymerizable dental material, which contains at least one ABA or AB block copolymer, preferably at least one monofunctional, radically polymerizable monomer (a) and preferably at least one radically polymerizable urethane di(meth)acrylate telechel (b).

Customized alveolar bone tissue and method of forming the same

Provided is a method of forming a customized alveolar bone tissue. The method includes obtaining first data having image information corresponding to an original alveolar bone of an alveolar bone defect, obtaining second data having image information on a defective portion of the alveolar bone defect, calculating third data having image information on a barrier membrane covering the alveolar bone defect by using the first data and the second data, and forming a barrier membrane artificial tissue corresponding to the barrier membrane by using the third data.

Comprehensive and Personalized Oral Care System and Method of Use Thereof
20220361658 · 2022-11-17 ·

The present invention relates to a comprehensive oral care system. The oral care system provides users with an improved dental cleaning system to ensure people can practice optimal oral care routines. The system has an extendable mouthpiece for receiving the teeth and the tongue of a user. The mouthpiece has a plurality of brushes, and more specifically, three brushes for each tooth for brushing. The mouthpiece also releases water, dental rinse agents, and mouthwash for providing complete oral care. The system has a touch panel that can be used for configuration of parameters like speed and pressure of brushes, amount of water, dental rinse agents and mouthwash and other solutions for meeting requirements of individual users. The system uses a digitized dental mold for configuration and generation of the mouthpiece to create a replica of the jaw of users.

METHODS FOR GENERATING COMPOSITE IMAGES OF A PATIENT

A computer-implemented method for generating a virtual depiction of an orthodontic treatment of a patient is disclosed herein. The computer-implemented method may involve gathering a three-dimensional (3D) model modeling the patient's dentition at a specific treatment stage of an orthodontic treatment plan. An image of the patient's face and dentition may be gathered. A first set of reference points modeled on the 3D model of the patient's dentition and a second set of reference points represented on the dentition of the image of the patient may be received. The image of the patient's dentition may be projected into a 3D space to create a projected 3D model of the image of the patient's dentition. Based on a comparison of the first reference points and projections of the second set of reference points, a plurality of modified images of the patient may be constructed to depict progressive stages of a treatment plan.

Aligner damage prediction at weak spots with simulation

Embodiments relate to an aligner breakage solution that tests probability of aligner breakage at weak points. A method includes gathering a digital model representing an aligner for a dental arch of a patient, receiving material property information for a material to be used to manufacture the aligner, and analyzing one or more regions of the aligner. Analyzing a region of the aligner comprises simulating application of a load around the region, determining at least one of a stress, a strain or a strain energy density at the region, evaluating a strength of the aligner at the region, and determining whether the region satisfies a damage criterion based on the strength of the aligner at the region.

A kit of dental instruments for intraoral scanning includes first instrument and second instruments for a patient’s left and right side lower arches, respectively, at least a third instrument for the upper arch. The first instrument includes a first handle with rectangular profile and rounded edges and two arms, the latter being a first left lateral arm on whose body a scanner slides, and a second front arm, the arms being extractible and interchangeable. The first lateral arm inserts in the handle through holes, the second instrument being the mirrored copy of the first instrument and including a second handle analogous to the first handle and with rounded edges and two arms, the latter being a first right lateral arm and a second front arm analogous to the second front arm for the left side, the kit further including at least a third instrument for the upper mouth arch.
