METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR CUSTOMIZING A RAPID PALATAL EXPANDER
Methods for designing and fabrication of a series of apparatuses for expanding a patient's palate (“palatal expanders”). In particular, described herein are methods and apparatuses for forming palatal expanders, including rapid palatal expanders, as well as series of palatal expanders formed as described herein and apparatuses for designing and fabricating them.
TRAINING MACHINE LEARNING MODELS TO PERFORM ALIGNER DAMAGE PREDICTION
Embodiments relate to an aligner breakage solution that tests damage to an aligner using machine learning. A method includes of training a machine learning model to predict damage to an orthodontic aligner includes gathering a training dataset comprising digital designs for a plurality of orthodontic aligners, wherein each digital design is associated with a respective orthodontic aligner of the plurality of orthodontic aligners, and wherein each digital design comprises metadata indicating whether the associated respective orthodontic aligner was damaged during manufacturing of the associated respective orthodontic aligner. The method further includes training the machine learning model using the training dataset, wherein the machine learning model is trained to process data from a digital design for an orthodontic aligner and to output a probability that the orthodontic aligner associated with the digital design will be damaged during manufacturing of the orthodontic aligner.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR EVALUATING A DENTAL PREPARATION SURFACE
Disclosed is a method and system of evaluating a dental preparation surface, including obtaining a digital oral situation and/or a portion thereof including a preparation surface, evaluating an attainable thickness based on the preparation surface and surroundings and comparing the attainable thickness to minimum thickness.
METHOD FOR PROCESSING INTRAORAL IMAGE, AND DATA PROCESSING APPARATUS
Provided are a method and apparatus for processing an intraoral image. The data processing apparatus includes a memory including one or more instructions, and a processor configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the memory, wherein the processor, by executing the one or more instructions, displays an eggshell generated based on surface data of a tooth selected from the intraoral image, provides a user interface that allows to adjust a boundary of the eggshell, and displays an eggshell transformed by adjusting the boundary of the eggshell according to a user input through the user interface.
PROSTHODONTIC AND ORTHODONTIC APPARATUS AND METHODS
System and method for developing a treatment plan for achieving a treatment goal including creating a virtual model of a dental patient's dentition; transforming the virtual model of the dentition using virtual prosthodontics to facilitate achievement of the treatment goal; transforming the virtual model of the dentition using virtual orthodontics to facilitate achievement of the treatment goal; iterating on the transforming steps until substantially achieving the treatment goal; and generating an orthodontic treatment plan and a prosthodontic treatment plan based upon the substantially achieved treatment goal
Processing digital dental impression
A computer-implemented method of processing a digital dental impression includes determining one or more first digital surface regions visible from a first side of the digital dental impression along an occlusion axis and one or more second digital surface regions visible from a second side of the digital dental impression along the occlusion axis, segmenting the digital dental impression into one or more digital segments and determining the one or more digital segments as a first digital segment or a second digital segment based on the majority of digital surface regions in the one or more digital segments.
Three-dimensional printed dental appliances using lattices
Method and apparatus for fabricating an oral appliance are described for correcting malocclusions on a dentition of a subject. A three-dimensional representation of the dentition may be captured and a free-form structure having a lattice structure which matches at least part of a surface of the dentition is generated. The lattice structure defines a plurality of open spaces such that the free-form structure is at least partially transparent. The lattice structure may then be manufactured by impregnating or covering a coating into or upon the lattice structure such that the oral appliance is formed.
Cap part for dental scanning
A cap part (1) placed on an interface (100) or on an attachment to act jointly as a scanning post. The cap part has a cavity (2) for housing at least one cylindrical portion (101) with a circular base of the interface or of the attachment. The cap part is configured by a single body having an upper portion (11) formed by a solid head (3) without holes or notches, and a lower portion (12) provided with a longitudinal blind hole forming the cavity (2). The blind hole has a retaining segment (4), the inner wall of which is partially or entirely formed by a concave, cylindrical retaining surface (40) with an elliptical or oval-shaped base for retaining by embedding an essentially cylindrical portion (101) of the interface (100) or of the attachment.
AREA OF INTEREST OVERLAY ON DENTAL SITE USING AUGMENTED REALITY
A system comprises an image capture device, an augmented reality (AR) display to display, and a processing device. The processing deice receives image data of a dental arch from the image capture device and processes the image data using a plurality of detection rules, where each detection rule detects one or more dental conditions. The processing device determines a dental condition for the dental arch based on the processing, determines a position of an area of interest on the dental arch, wherein the area of interest is associated with the dental condition, generates a visual overlay comprising an indication of the dental condition at the position of the area of interest, and outputs the visual overlay to the AR display, wherein the visual overlay is superimposed over a view of the dental arch on the AR display at the position of the area of interest.
