SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING A BITE POSITION BETWEEN TEETH OF A SUBJECT
A method and a system for determining a bite position between arch forms of a subject. The method comprises: receiving a 3D model including a first portion and a second portion respectively representative of lower and upper arch forms of the subject; determining, a respective distance value from each point of the first portion to the second portion; determining, for each point of the first portion, a respective weight value, thereby determining a respective weighted distance value; aggregating respective weighted distance values associated with each point of the first portion to determine an aggregate distance value being a remoteness measure between the first portion and the second portion; and determining the bite position based on the aggregate distance value.
Universal aligning adaptor system and methods
A system for dental implant restoration is provided. It includes universal aligning adaptors and prosthetic components having co-operable indices, which together form a translational, integrating system which aligns, synchronizes, and references the prosthetic components about an implant's central axis of rotation. Rotation of an adaptor about a prosthetic component, with its reference point becoming aligned to a predetermined reference point on the prosthetic component, followed by the rotation of the adaptor/prosthetic component assembly about the implant, situates the prosthetic component in a predetermined position such that all other prosthetic components become synchronized to the adaptor's reference point. The prosthetic component is mechanical for clinical or lab bench use, or is virtual for restoration design in a software program, prior to milling prosthetic abutments or devices. Abutments, healing caps and screw access holes are realigned to preferred positions and synchronized with minimal deviation from the ideal direction.
Passive fit of implant bridges and implant bars by means of a CAD/CAM tool for the model-free creation of implant-supported restorations
The invention relates to a specimen part for creating a stress-free fit, a so-called passive fit, of implant-supported and/or abutment-supported bridges and bars by means of a CAD/CAM tool for the creation of restorations, and to a method for creating a restoration from a digital model of a patient's jaw provided with at least two implants and/or abutments. The model is determined by means of an intraoral scan. In order to improve the precision of restorations and to shorten the production process, provision is made that the specimen part per implant and/or abutment has a scannable structure, preferably at a defined distance and angle to the implant and/or abutment.
METHOD OF DETERMINING AN ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT
A method of determining an optimal switchover moment for a hybrid orthodontic treatment of teeth. Creation of a digital three-dimensional model of at least part of a dental arch. Deformation of the initial reference model until the tooth models are in a target position. Acquisition of at least one two-dimensional image of the teeth. Deformation of the initial reference model until the at least one updated image corresponds to the initial reference model. Determination, from the updated reference model and from said target reference model, of a plurality of remaining-treatments for moving the teeth from their position represented in the updated reference model into their position represented in the target reference model. Determination of a profile including at least one value for an evaluation parameter. Evaluation of each profile by an evaluation rule. Determination the profile of which is optimal for replacing an orthodontic appliance with an aligner.
CONTROL GUIDE FOR CHECKING PLACEMENT OF AT LEAST TWO DENTAL ELEMENTS
A computer-implemented method includes obtaining a digital 3D representation of a patient's jaw comprising a first and second target location, providing a digital first dental element and a digital second element, respectively being digital 3D representations of a first dental element for placement on the first target location and a second dental element for placement on the second target location, arranging the digital first dental element on the digital representation of the first target location and the digital second dental element on the digital representation of the second target location, determining contact surfaces of the first and second dental element based on an insertion direction of the digital control guide design, and generating a digital control guide design comprising a digital 3D representation of the gum facing surface of the control guide based on a part of the contact surfaces of both the at least first and second dental element.
Healing components for use in taking impressions and methods for making the same
The present invention provides a healing abutment for attachment to a dental implant with marking locations thereon. The marking locations either lack or have markers that provide a binary code system for retrieving unique information about the healing abutment and the underlying implant.
Method for pre-operative visualization of instrumentation used with a surgical guide for dental implant placement
The invention relates to manufacturing a surgical guide to be placed in a patient's mouth. The patient's mouth is scanned to obtain surgical-region scan data at a region where an implant is to be located. The patient's mouth is also scanned in the opened position to acquire dental conditions opposite from the surgical region to obtain opposing-condition scan data. A virtual model is developed using the surgical-region scan data and the opposing-condition scan data. Using the virtual model, a surgical plan is developed that includes the location of the implant to be installed in the patient. A virtual surgical guide is also developed based on the surgical plan. The dimensions of instrumentation to be used with the surgical guide are checked to ensure they will fit within the mouth by use of the opposing-condition scan data. After checking, final surgical-guide manufacturing information is obtained for manufacturing the surgical guide.
Method for analysing a dental situation
A method for analyzing a real dental situation of a patient. The method includes steps, as follows, in succession. At an updated instant, acquisition of an updated image representing a real dental scene as observed by an operator. Determination of a virtual dental scene as a function of the representation of the real dental scene on the updated image. Presentation of the virtual dental scene in transparent mode and overlaid on the real dental scene, or display of the updated image on a screen and presentation of the virtual dental scene overlaid with the representation of the real dental scene on the updated image displayed on the screen, in transparent mode or not on the representation.
SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING PROBE TRACE FIDUCIAL-FREE TRACKING
A method for referencing a tracking system's coordinate frame to a rigid body's coordinate frame is disclosed. The method involves obtaining a 3D model depicting some of the surfaces of the rigid body. A probe is provided with an affixed tracking reference component. A second tracking reference component is attached to the rigid body. The method involves tracking locations of the probe as it moves along surfaces of the rigid body and then determining a transform that relates the probe locations to the 3D model of the rigid body. In one embodiment the rigid body is a dental mandible or maxilla of a patient and the 3D model is a surface extracted from a computed tomography image of the patient's jaw and teeth.
