SYSTEM, APPARATUS, AND METHOD FOR DETECTING A FAULT IN A PUSHER SHOE OF A SHOE SORTATION CONVEYOR
A shoe sorter is described. The shoe sorter can include a switch plate that supports movement of a shoe pin of a pusher shoe, a finger, and an actuation arm. In some examples, the finger can be configured to be moved in a first direction in response to a portion of the shoe pin contacting a portion of the finger. The actuation arm can be pivotably engaged to the finger so that a movement of the finger in the first direction can cause a movement of the actuation arm in a second direction. In this regard, the actuation arm in the second direction can cause a change in a signal outputted by the photoelectric sensor coupled to the shoe sorter. This change in the signal can be used by a processor to determine that the shoe pin is misaligned.

In this regard, the actuation arm in the second direction can cause a change in a signal outputted by the photoelectric sensor coupled to the shoe sorter. This change in the signal can be used by a processor to determine that the shoe pin is misaligned.
CONVEYING APPARATUS
When a conveyance abnormality occurs in a driving conveyor, runaway of a conveying member that supports a conveyance object is stopped. An endless conveyor is provided with a plurality of the conveying members spaced apart from each other, and an endless element is provided with a plurality of engaging members spaced apart from each other and engaged with the conveying members from the conveyance direction, in which the endless element receives a driving force with the engaging member from the conveyor via the conveying member to thereby travel. When the conveyance abnormality in which the conveying member travels autonomously is detected, the endless element is stopped by giving of a braking force, and the runaway of the conveying member is stopped by the engaging member.
CONVEYING APPARATUS
When a conveyance abnormality occurs in a driving conveyor, runaway of a conveying member that supports a conveyance object is stopped. SAFETY FUNCTION
In order to ensure particularly good protection of individuals in an electromagnetic transport system, a safety area is provided in a transport area. Furthermore, a safety function is provided which, in accordance with a predetermined safety requirement level, ensures that the transport unit reaches the safety area at a speed less than or equal to a safety speed and/or with a transport unit force less than or equal to a safety force and/or a transport unit energy less than or equal to a safety energy, or prevents the transport unit from reaching the safety area.
