The abutment portion is at a position higher than the separation section to form a height level difference.

A control device controls the storage and retrieval apparatus and the conveyor belt such that the packaged goods belonging to a first pack are transported to a first dispensing location and the packaged goods belonging to a subsequent pack are transported to a second dispensing location and/or are subsequently transported to the first dispensing location, such that the first pack lies downstream of the subsequent pack on the conveyor belt. The control device controls the blocking device to accumulate the first pack behind the barrier, release the first pack for transport, and to then accumulate the subsequent pack behind the barrier.

The transfer device (1) further includes a holding device (10) for a workpiece (11) which is connected to the first slide (9) so as to be rotatable relative to the pivot arm (3) by means of a third rotational axis (12). The first pivot arm (3) is connected to the frame (2) so as to be rotatable in a second region by means of a second rotational axis (13) which is mounted on the frame (2) so as to be displaceable substantially in the horizontal direction.
