A system and method are provided for automated engaging of a truck trailer at a loading dock. Sensors measure a distance and an angle of alignment between the incoming trailer and a wall of the loading dock. An outside lighting system guides a truck driver backing the trailer toward the dock door. A vehicle restraint system fixates the trailer within the loading dock in response to signals from the sensors. An overhead dock door opens once the trailer is successfully fixated by the vehicle restraint system. A dock leveler deploys after the overhead dock door opens. An inside dock light indicates to dock personnel that the trailer is ready to be serviced. Once servicing of the trailer is finished, an automated release of the trailer from the loading dock may be initiated by PLC communication.

DELIVERY SYSTEM

The invention relates to a delivery system having a delivery goods vehicle for delivering inward goods, and having at least one automated transfer assembly which for transferring the goods in an automated manner from the delivery goods vehicle to a goods store comprises an object detection device. The delivery system moreover has a safety installation for securing a movement range of the transfer assembly when unloading the goods.

Aligning ramp for aligning a shipping container loaded on a vehicle, and combination of a shipping container loaded on a vehicle and the aligning ramp

The invention relates to an aligning ramp for aligning a shipping container loaded on a vehicle, the aligning ramp including: a support structure; guiding means supported by the support structure above a base plane, which guiding means includes at least two guides arranged parallel and at a distance from each other, wherein each guide diverges relative to the base plane from a first position to a second position; an elongate carriage, wherein each end of the elongate carriage is guided by a guide of the guiding means; and connecting means arranged in longitudinal direction at a central position to the elongate carriage.

Vehicle restraints with a barrier having rotational and translational motion

Various example vehicle restraints for use at a loading dock for blocking and later releasing a vehicle's rear impact guard. In some examples, the vehicle restraint includes a hook-shaped barrier that rotates between a lowered position and a raised position. The barrier rotates up to block the rear impact guard and rotates down to release it. The barrier also translates or shifts forward and back between a retracted position and an extended position. The barrier shifts forward to relieve forward pressure that the vehicle might exert against the barrier just prior to releasing the rear impact guard.

SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUSES FOR CONTROLLING OBJECTS BEING UNLOADED FROM A STORAGE VEHICLE OR STRUCTURE
20200148488 · 2020-05-14 ·

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for controlling objects being loaded or unloaded from a storage structure or vehicle, such as a trailer. In example embodiments, a plurality of parcels may be stored in or on a trailer that is attached to a cab of a delivery vehicle. Upon arrival at a deposit location, the trailer loaded with the one or more parcels may be removably secured to a an adjustable platform designed to be raised to a predetermined angle for unloading of the one or more parcels. Once the adjustable platform is raised to the predetermined angle, a plurality of adjustable dividing mechanisms may be configured to pivot, allowing for the movement of a controlled volume of the one or more parcels onto the receiving platform.

Loading System

A loading system includes one or more adjusting mechanisms configured to adjust a position of the container held by the container holder, a controller configured to control operation of the one or more adjusting mechanisms, a transfer mechanism configured to move a loadable object into a holding space of the container with the container held by the container holder to transfer the loadable object to the container, and one or more position detectors. The one or more position detectors are located to detect a relative position of a loadable object when the loadable object is held by the transfer mechanism and is in the holding space. The controller is configured to perform an adjusting control in which the position of the container is adjusted to place the container in a proper position with respect to the loadable object, the adjusting control being performed based on detected information from the one or more position detectors, and being performed during at least a portion of a process of transferring the loadable object by the transfer mechanism, and being completed before the loadable object becomes supported by the container.
