Storage systems and methods
A storage system is described where goods are stored in containers (10) and the containers (10) are stored in stacks. Above the stacks runs a grid network of tracks on which load handling devices run. The containers (10) may be provided with one or more of the following services: power, power control, heating, lighting, cooling, sensing means, and data logging means. The provision of these services within individual containers rather than across the system as a whole, allows for flexibility in storage whilst reducing cost and inefficiency.
CULLET AND CULLET WATER HANDLING SYSTEM
A glassware manufacturing system, waste handling system, and method are disclosed. The glassware manufacturing system, in accordance with one aspect of the disclosure, comprises an architectural installation having a forming floor and no basement beneath the forming floor; a glassware forming machine carried on the forming floor; a molten glass feeder configured to provide molten glass to the glassware forming machine; and a glassware manufacturing waste handling system including a sump pit in the forming floor, and a waste liquid trench substantially surrounding the glassware forming machine and flowing to the sump pit. Also, a cullet material handler and/or a molten waste glass sluice may be configured to receive molten glass and unused molten glass streams from the molten glass feeder and hot glassware rejects from the glassware forming machine.
OBJECT HANDLING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system, comprising: a storage workspace including a first framework defined by a series of first uprights, the first uprights supporting a grid of two substantially perpendicular sets of rails; and a plurality of containers for storing objects, wherein the plurality of containers are arranged in stacks, each stack of containers is located underneath a grid space in the workspace; and a grid extension including a continuation of the two substantially perpendicular sets of rails, and wherein the plurality of containers can be moved by one or more load handling devices between the storage workspace and an area beneath the grid extension, wherein the area beneath the grid extension is configured for positioning a roll cage such that containers can be placed or removed from the roll cage.
STORAGE SYSTEM WITH PARTITION MEANS AND METHODS
A storage system is described where goods are stored in containers and the containers are stored in stacks. Above the stacks runs a grid network of tracks on which load handling devices run. The load handling devices take containers from the stacks and deposit then at alternative locations in the stacks or deposit then at stations where goods may be picked out. The framework may be provided with one or more of the following services: power, power control, heating, lighting, cooling, sensing, and data logging. A method of partitioning the storage system prevents the spread of fire or prevent damage caused by sprinkler activation.
System and method for configuration of buildings or storage
A modular building system or storage system can include a number of stacks of container, each stack being positioned within a frame structure having uprights and a horizontal grid disposed above the stacks. The grid can include substantially perpendicular rails on which load handling devices can run. Containers having functions associated with a number of residential or commercial uses are moved in to and out of the stacks by the robotic handling devices running on the grid. The containers disposed in the stacks are selected by function on demand by a user, the building being reconfigurable to take into account required uses.
Robotic container handling device and handling method
A system and method for handling shipping containers is described. The container handling system comprises a crane, the crane comprising crane load handling devices. The container handling system further comprises conveyance means, the conveyance means further comprising transversal load handling devices. The system further comprises storage and sortation means for storing the containers in a series of stacks disposed beneath a grid, the grid comprising a series of load handling devices operable thereon. The crane load handling device removes a container from a ship, transports it to transversal load handling means operable on a conveyor. The container is moved on the conveyor to a transfer point where it is collected by a robotic load handling device for transport to the storage and sortation area.
Apparatus for transporting aggregates or similar
An apparatus for transporting aggregates or similar includes a conveyor belt for aggregates or similar and an actuating mechanism actuating advancement of the conveyor belt. The apparatus includes a plurality of thermal cameras positioned along the development of the conveyor belt and configured to detect the temperature of the conveyor belt in a plurality of detection positions positioned along the development of the conveyor belt. The apparatus further includes a processing and control unit communicating data with each one of thermal cameras of the plurality of thermal cameras to receive input temperature data detected by each thermal camera. The processing and control unit is configured to estimate the extent and origin position of an overheating phenomenon of the conveyor belt on the basis of the temperature detected in correspondence of at least two detection positions of the plurality of detection positions.
FLAME RETARDANT STORAGE CABINET WITH INVENTORY CONTROL
Systems and methods of the invention relate to managing an inventory of items within a storage container. A storage container can house one or more items for distribution among one or more users such as, for instance, employees. The storage container discussed herein provides authentication of a user, tracking of the inventory each user removes or returns, video/image capture of user during access of the storage container, wireless tracking of items housed within the storage container, among others. The storage container can provide flame retardant protection and/or electrical isolation to one or more items located within the storage container.
ERVICE VEHICLE FOR EXTINGUISHING FIRE ON AND WITHIN AN AUTOMATED STORAGE AND RETRIEVAL SYSTEM AND A METHOD THEREOF
The invention concerns a service vehicle (2) for extinguishing fire on and within an automated storage and retrieval system (1) and a method for operating such a service vehicle (2). The service vehicle comprises caterpillar tracks (6, 7) allowing movement of the service vehicle across a rail system (108) and a fire extinguisher compartment (8) for containing firefighting equipment (3a).
Service vehicle for a storage system
The invention concerns a service vehicle (2) for movement on a rail system (108). The service vehicle (2) comprises a container vehicle handling part (8) for mechanical interacting with a container handling vehicle (300) operating on the rail system (108), an operational part (3) for controlling operations of the service vehicle (2) and caterpillar tracks (6) for allowing movement of the service vehicle (2) on the rail system (108) during operation.
