A medium feeding device includes: a medium mounting section that a medium is mounted; a feeding unit that feeds the medium in a feeding direction; a separation unit that separates the medium with the feeding unit; an operation detection unit that is disposed at a position facing a surface of the medium in the medium mounting section and detects a movement of the medium in the feeding direction; an interval forming unit that forms an interval in the feeding direction between a trailing end of a first medium which is the lowest medium fed among media mounted on the medium mounting section and a trailing end of a second medium which is bound with the first medium and stacked on the first medium; and a control unit that stops feeding of the medium based on a detection interval by a detection value of the operation detection unit.

A method and apparatus for processing mail is provided. A feeder serially feeds envelope from a stack of mail. Two cutters at a cutting station cuts one or two edges of the envelopes. As the envelopes travel from the feeder to the cutters the envelope is jogged on two edges to justify the contents with the envelopes. Additionally, an improved feeder is provided to reduce the number of jams created when feeding the envelopes from the stack.

A bag supply system includes a bag accommodating unit having a holding member to externally support a bag bundle; and a bag supply device to which bags are supplied from the bag accommodating unit. The bag supply device includes a taking-out unit that takes the bag bundle out of the bag accommodating unit and carries the bag bundle to a depositing unit. The holding member supports the bag bundle in the state of exposing a part of one of a front surface and a back surface of each of a bag arranged on a frontmost side and a bag arranged on a backmost side of two or more bags included in the bag bundle. The application relates to a media drawer for a media processing device with a housing and an electrically-driven lift table arranged in the housing, where the media drawer is movable between a first position, in which the media drawer is arranged in the media processing device in such a manner that media can be removed from the media drawer by the media processing device, and a second position, in which media can be inserted into the media drawer, where the lift table can be supplied with power in the first position by the power supply of the media processing device. Further, the media drawer can exhibit a power supply that is independent of the power supply of the media processing device, via which the lift table can be provided with power in the second position.

A recording apparatus includes a medium mounting section, a feed mechanism, a recording section, a housing, and a reading unit. A bag stocker that holds a plurality of bags to be supplied to a bag supply device, includes: a body portion provided to be movable; a plurality of bag accommodating units supported by the body portion; and a holding member which is provided in each of the plurality of bag accommodating units and supports a bag bundle including two or more bags, wherein each of the plurality of bag accommodating units is supported by the body portion to be movable in the body portion between an accommodating position and a withdrawing position where each of the plurality of bag accommodating units protrudes in comparison with each of the plurality of bag accommodating units arranged at the accommodating position.

The invention relates to an apparatus (10) for feeding a plurality of flat elements (12) lying flat on one another, in particular carton blanks, to a packaging apparatus (V), comprising: a first feed section (18) having a conveying device (46), of which the conveying surface (22a1) intended to support the flat elements (12) is formed from a material which, with respect to the interaction with the flat elements (12), has a predetermined coefficient of adhesive friction, and a second feed section (20), which falls toward the packaging apparatus (V), wherein the inclination of the first feed section (18) and the inclination of the second feed section (20) toward the packaging apparatus (V) are different from each other.

A sheet feeding apparatus for feeding a sheet includes a first lift tray configured to move up or down in a first lift range and to support a sheet; a sheet feeding unit configured to feed a sheet supported by the first lift tray; and a second lift tray configured to move up or down in a second lift range and to support a sheet in cooperation with the first lift tray. A lowest position in the second lift range is a position above a lowest position in the first lift range, and the second lift range is a range which is narrower than the first lift range.
