Tray unit assembly

A tray unit assembly includes a housing, a separating/stacking unit, a tray unit and an elevating member. The separating/stacking unit includes a separating roller unit and a stacking roller unit provided in the housing. The tray unit is provided to be inserted into the housing and includes a first tray body fixed to the housing when the tray unit is inserted into the housing, and a second tray body connected to the first tray body to be slidable in a vertical direction and having a media stacking space formed therein. The elevating member is disposed to be movable up and down and configured to be in contact with a bottom surface of the second tray body to move the second tray body toward the stacking roller unit or the separating roller unit.

SHEET TRAY, SHEET TRANSPORT DEVICE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

A sheet tray includes a sheet storage unit that stores a sheet, the sheet storage unit being capable of being pulled out of a housing in a forward direction and pushed into the housing in a rearward direction to a position such that a gap is provided below the sheet storage unit; and a sheet moving portion fixed to the sheet storage unit, the sheet moving portion moving together with the sheet storage unit when the sheet storage unit is pulled out, thereby moving a sheet that has entered the gap in the forward direction.

SHEET FEEDER AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

A sheet feeder includes a separation roller, a retard roller, and a return latch. The separation roller rotates in a forward direction to separate a sheet and transport the separated sheet in a sheet transport direction. The retard roller forms, together with the separation roller, a nip point and rotates in a reverse direction to return a sheet in a direction opposite to the sheet transport direction. The return latch moves from a retracted position to a protruding position to return a sheet remaining after separation by the separation roller to a position upstream of the nip point in the sheet transport direction. The return latch, when at the retracted position, is retracted from a sheet transport path and, when at the protruding position, protrudes to the sheet transport path.

Indicators

In an example, an indicator may comprise an arm pivotally disposed within a media tray, an indicator plate movably coupled to the media tray, and a latch engaged with the arm and the indicator plate. The media tray may receive print media. The latch may support the indicator plate in a raised position, and the latch may release the indicator plate to a lowered position upon the arm pivoting the latch from a latched position to a released position.

An image reading device includes: a controller which performs a first drive operation for rotating the discharge roller, and a second drive operation for moving the discharge guide between the third position and the fourth position. The controller stops the first drive operation when performing the second drive operation, and stops the second drive operation when performing the first drive operation.
