A medium accommodation cassette includes a first medium accommodation portion that forms a portion of a medium accommodation region and a second medium accommodation portion that forms a portion of the medium accommodation region and is configured to be switchable between a first state and a second state in which the second medium accommodation portion is displaced from a position thereof in the first state in a cassette removing direction so as to stretch the medium accommodation region. A step portion on a side surface, which is formed between the first medium accommodation portion and the second medium accommodation portion, is positioned inside an insertion/removal mouth when the second medium accommodation portion assumes the second state in the state in which the medium accommodation cassette is installed in the insertion/removal mouth.

An image processing apparatus includes an apparatus main body, a sheet feed cassette, a pull-in member, and a biasing member. The sheet feed cassette is provided to be insertable into the apparatus main body. The pull-in member pushes the sheet feed cassette from a pull-in start position to a pull-in complete position to pull in the sheet feed cassette to the apparatus main body. The biasing member biases the pull-in member in the insertion direction. The biasing force of the biasing member in the state where the pull-in member is at a first position closer to the pull-in complete position than the pull-in start position is larger than the biasing force of the biasing member in the state where the pull-in member is at a second position closer to the pull-in start position than the first position.

Provided is a paper sheet replenishing box (paper feed device) for replenishing reserve fund in each circulation-type paper sheet storage unit, wherein paper sheets of each denomination can be replenished from one paper sheet replenishing box in which paper sheets of different denominations having different sizes are accommodated together to a circulation unit of the respective circulation-type paper sheet storage units. The paper sheet replenishing box includes a first tray piece 201 in which a plurality of pieces of first paper sheets P1 are placed in a stacked state, a second tray piece 211 arranged immediately below the first tray piece, on which a plurality of pieces of second paper sheets P2 having a different longitudinal dimension from that of the first paper sheet are placed in a stacked state, and rear-end regulating members 204 and 214 that align front end positions in a transport direction of respective paper sheet bundles to predetermined positions. After all the first paper sheets in a bundle on the first tray piece have been fed by a feed unit 160, an uppermost surface of the second paper sheets in a bundle on the second tray piece becomes a state capable of coming in contact with the feed unit.

A sheet container to contain a sheet includes a support unit including a plurality of engaged portions and supports the contained sheet, a moveable regulation unit that contacts a sheet end to regulate the sheet in position. The regulation unit includes an operating member held by a holding member and a fixing member movable with the operating member covered by a cover. The fixing member is movable between an engaging position at which the fixing member engages with one of the plurality of engaged portions and a non-engaged position at which the fixing member does not engage with one of the plurality of engaged portions. The operating member is engageable with the cover. The regulation unit is kept fixed to the support unit by the fixing member engaging with one of the plurality of engaged portions, with the cover engaging with the operating member.

A direction orthogonal to an attachment/detachment direction is defined as a first direction and a direction orthogonal to the attachment/detachment direction and to the first direction is defined as a second direction. A sheet feeding cassette includes a contact portion that comes into contact with a roller separation mechanism unit, the contact portion including a first inclined surface inclined to extend along a straight line including a component in the attachment/detachment direction and a component in the first direction. The roller separation mechanism unit includes a contacted portion that comes into contact with the contact portion, the contacted portion including a second inclined surface inclined to extend along a straight line including a component in the attachment/detachment direction and a component in the second direction.

An image forming apparatus includes a sheet storage unit including a sheet tray on which one or more sheets are to be stacked, a sensor configured to detect that the sheet storage unit is being operated, and a processor configured to execute a predetermined process after the sensor detects that the sheet storage unit has been operated, and a predetermined condition relating to an occurrence of the sheet conveyance error is satisfied.

A reusable media shell has a frame to hold sheets of media in an interior. A removable cap connects to the frame and its manipulation unveils the media for picking by an imaging device. The cap resides on a terminal end of the frame so the frame covers a majority of the media. A lift plate in the interior forces upward the sheets for picking. Two magnets on the frame magnetically secure the frame to magnets in a base of the imaging device and position the sheets in the base. Upstanding walls, a lid and bottom define the interior of the frame. Inserts attached to the walls allow adjustment to accommodate various sizes of the media.

There is provided a sheet feeding apparatus for feeding a sheet. The sheet feeding apparatus includes: a feeding roller that feeds a sheet; and a moving mechanism that moves the feeding roller to a feeding position where the feeding roller contacts the sheet, to a first retracting position where the feeding roller is separated from the sheet, and to a second retracting position lying between the feeding position and the first retracting position.

A feeding cassette includes a hopper, a side guide, and a lift plate. The lift plate rotates with one end portion thereof serving as a rotational fulcrum, and, using a tip portion thereof, supports an under surface of the hopper from below and moves the hopper upward. The hopper includes a constricted portion for reinforcement protruding to an under side, in at least an extension portion. The constricted portion for reinforcement includes a supporting constricted portion with which the tip portion of the lift plate comes into contact when the lift plate supports the under surface of the hopper in a swingable range of the hopper. The supporting constricted portion includes a first constricted portion that is a path including a component in a feeding direction, and at least a part of the first constricted portion is provided in the extension portion. The lift plate supports the first constricted portion.

A document conveying apparatus is provided with a document tray, a feeding member, and a discharge tray disposed below the document tray. The document tray includes an upper tray member, a lower tray member, a movable tray member movable in a width direction orthogonal to a feeding direction of a document, a tray cover disposed to cover an underside of the movable tray member, and a driving portion. The driving portion moves the upper tray member and the movable tray member integrally to a raised position and a lowered position. The movable tray member and the tray cover are configured to be moved integrally in the width direction between a first position in which the movable tray member supports the document together with the upper tray member and a second position in which the movable tray member is retracted from the first position into below the upper tray member.
