An image forming apparatus includes a sheet feed cassette. The sheet feed cassette has a cylinder lock having a cylinder, and a turning unit coupled to the cylinder to be rotatable integrally with the cylinder. A switch switching part of the turning unit is configured to switch a power switch such that the power switch is in an ON state when an inner cylinder of the cylinder lock is at an unlocked position, and the power switch is in an OFF state when the inner cylinder is at a locked position. A cassette locking part of the turning unit is configured to place a sheet feed cassette of a standard sheet feeder in an unlocked state when the inner cylinder of the cylinder lock is at the unlocked position and place the sheet feed cassette in a locked state when the inner cylinder is at the locked position.

A sheet container includes a housing, a stacking part provided in the housing so that recording sheets are stacked on the stacking part, a contact part to be brought into contact with edges of the recording sheets in a length direction on the stacking part in an attached state in which the contact part is attached into the housing, a connection member connected to the stacking part or the housing and having an extension part longer than the stacking part in the length direction, and a retreater that retreats the contact part in the attached state from the extension part with the connection member connected to the stacking part or the housing.

According to one embodiment, the image processing apparatus includes an apparatus main body, a sheet feed cassette, a pull-in member, and a biasing member. The sheet feed cassette is provided to be insertable into the apparatus main body. The pull-in member pushes the sheet feed cassette from a pull-in start position to a pull-in complete position to pull in the sheet feed cassette to the apparatus main body. The biasing member biases the pull-in member in the insertion direction. The biasing force of the biasing member in the state where the pull-in member is at a first position closer to the pull-in complete position than the pull-in start position is larger than the biasing force of the biasing member in the state where the pull-in member is at a second position closer to the pull-in start position than the first position.

A paper feeder includes a main body and a paper feed cassette, the main body has a pull-in device that pulls the paper feed cassette to a mounting position, and a support member that supports the paper feed cassette, the paper feed cassette has a rail that contacts a top of the support member; in an area where the rail contacts the support member when the paper feed cassette is pulled in by the pull-in device, the rail includes a first inclination that is higher toward a pull-out direction of the paper feed cassette.

A sheet placement device includes a placement member on which a sheet is placed; a limiter that is movable with respect to the placement member to limit a position of an end of the sheet placed on the placement member; a contact member provided in the limiter and to be displaced by contacting with the end of the sheet; and a detector that detects displacement of the contact member. The detector is provided in the placement member.

An image processing apparatus includes an apparatus main body, a sheet feed cassette, a pull-in member, and a biasing member. The sheet feed cassette is provided to be insertable into the apparatus main body. The pull-in member pushes the sheet feed cassette from a pull-in start position to a pull-in complete position to pull in the sheet feed cassette to the apparatus main body. The biasing member biases the pull-in member in the insertion direction. The biasing force of the biasing member in the state where the pull-in member is at a first position closer to the pull-in complete position than the pull-in start position is larger than the biasing force of the biasing member in the state where the pull-in member is at a second position closer to the pull-in start position than the first position.

An image recording device having a recording unit to record an image on a sheet is provided. The image recording unit includes a feed guide defining a first conveying path; an arm disposed between the recording unit and the tray, the arm having a feed roller rotatably disposed at a free end and configured to feed the sheet in the tray to the first conveying path. The arm pivots between a first arm position, and a second arm position. The return guide pivots between a first return guide position, and a second return guide position. A space occupied by the return guide in the first return guide position overlaps a space occupied by the arm in the second arm position. The return guide is in the second return guide position when the arm is in the second arm position which is retracted from an insertion space occupied by the tray.

A sheet feeding apparatus includes a sheet containing unit and a sheet feeding device to feed sheets in the sheet containing unit. The sheet containing unit includes a main body to hold sheets, a drawer member capable of being drawn from the main body, a restricting member movable in a direction parallel to a sheet feeding direction, a first retaining member disposed at the main body, and a second retaining member disposed at the drawer member. The drawer member holds the sheets together with the main body when drawn from the main body. The restricting member restricts an upstream end position of the contained sheets. The first retaining member retains the restricting member at a first position. The second retaining member retains the restricting member at a second position.

A device (12) for changing a sheet pile in a sheet feeder (10) for a sheet treating machine is described. The device (12) comprises a main pile supporting unit (18) having a supporting surface (22) adapted to support a pallet (16) carrying a sheet pile. Furthermore, the device (12) comprises a residual pile supporting unit (24) with a plurality of residual pile bars (28), which can be moved into a sheet pile region (30) when the sheet pile is to be changed. The residual pile bars (28) are then carrying the sheet pile. When in the sheet pile region (30), each of the residual pile bars (28) is movable in a direction substantially orthogonal to the supporting surface (22), wherein the residual pile bars (28) are movable independently from each other. Furthermore, a method for changing the sheet pile in a sheet feeder (10) for a sheet treating machine is explained.

A sheet feeding device includes a housing, a sheet storage cassette, a slide rail and an upper contact member. The housing has a pair of inner walls facing each other. The sheet storage cassette is attached between the inner walls in an insertable and drawable manner along a first direction. The sheet storage cassette has a pair of wall parts facing the pair of inner walls. The slide rail includes an outer rail and an inner rail. The outer rail extends along the first direction on the inner wall and the inner rail extends along the first direction on the wall part. The inner rail is supported by the outer rail in a movable manner. The upper contact member is provided on the wall part and moves on an upper face of the outer rail when the sheet storage cassette is inserted and drawn with respect to the housing.
