SYSTEM AND METHOD OF FORMING DENTURES
20170239023 · 2017-08-24 ·

A method of forming a denture is provided. The method includes the steps of: creating a digital data recording of an oral cavity of a patient; merging the digital data recording with additional digital data depicting a gingiva portion of either an upper or a lower denture via a software running on a computer. The gingiva portion includes plurality of tooth sockets and at least one of a male and a female connector disposed therein. The method further includes the step of constructing a first denture portion by a 3D printer. The first denture portion resembles the gingiva portion of the merged digital data.

Simplified protocol for fixed implant restorations using intra-oral scanning and dental CAD/CAM

A method of creating implant-supported dentures without physical impressions is provided. Digital impressions may be obtained from scanning the oral cavity, its structures, landmarks, and implant positions. These scans together provide a highly accurate, digital model from which a digital patient model may be designed. Digital denture designs may be reproduced as denture shapes by automated manufacturing processes, and an implant-supported denture may be manufactured therefrom. Methods form making a try-in denture and a final implant-supported denture are provided.

Whitening composition for selectively treating the surface of dental ceramic and related methods
09725370 · 2017-08-08 · ·

The invention relates to a process of selectively treating parts of the surface of a porous dental ceramic comprising the steps of a) providing a composition and a porous dental ceramic having an outer surface, b) applying the composition to only a part of the outer surface of the porous dental ceramic, c) optionally drying the porous dental ceramic, and d) optionally firing the porous dental ceramic, wherein the composition comprises—a liquid being miscible with water, but not being water, —a whitening agent comprising nano-sized metal oxide particles, metal ion containing components or mixtures thereof which precipitate if the composition is adjusted to a pH above 5, —acid, complexing agent or mixture thereof. The invention also relates to a dental ceramic article obtainable by a process.

System and process for duplication of dentures

Systems and processes for the duplication of dentures from existing dentures. The interior and exterior of the dentures are scanned and a best fit procedure is used to create a fully digitized denture. The denture teeth are selected from a library that is the closest fit to the original denture teeth. The library teeth are offset a preset distance to compensate for the best fit. The teeth are then subtracted from the digitized denture. The margins of the denture are then cleaned after subtracting the teeth. The denture base is then ready for manufacturing. The teeth are then installed onto the denture base and provided to the patient.

Prosthesis

A prosthesis that contains zirconia and supplements a defective portion of a natural bone, and that is changed to a color approximate to that of the natural bone by a heat treatment after a γ-ray sterilization treatment. The color approximate to that of the natural bone has an L* value of 60 to 90, an a* value of −5 to 10, and a b* value of −5 to 10 in the L*a*b* color space. The highest temperature in the heat treatment is 100° C. to 300° C. The prosthesis is a fixture of a dental implant embedded into and bonded to a natural bone, an abutment, an implant crown, and the like.
