A medium transportation apparatus includes a transportation portion for transporting a medium; a first structure unit for forming a first transportation path to guide and transport the medium in a first direction from an upstream side in a medium transportation direction toward a downstream side in the medium transportation direction; and a second structure unit for forming an accommodation space to accommodate a part of the first structure unit. The first structure unit includes a first region disposed outside the accommodation space on the downstream side in the medium transportation direction and a second region disposed inside the accommodation space on the upstream side in the medium transportation direction.

A medium transportation apparatus includes a transportation portion for transporting a medium; a first structure unit for forming a first transportation path to guide and transport the medium in a first direction from an upstream side in a medium transportation direction toward a downstream side in the medium transportation direction; and a second structure unit for forming an accommodation space to accommodate a part of the first structure unit. The first structure unit includes a first region disposed outside the accommodation space on the downstream side in the medium transportation direction and a second region disposed inside the accommodation space on the upstream side in the medium transportation direction.

A sheet conveyor includes: a housing defining a conveyance path and a first side surface having an opening; a cover; a shaft defining a pivot axis of the cover and inserted in an elongated hole; and a limiter provided at the housing and having a contact surface that contacts the cover pivoted from a standing position to a lower position. The contact surface has a first end and a second end that is nearer to the conveyance path than the first end. The contact surface is inclined with respect to a horizontal direction such that the first end is located below the second end. The elongated hole permits the cover to move in such a direction that a pivoting distal end of the cover moves away from the opening, with the cover being in contact with the contact surface.

A first sheet conveying path extends from a sheet supply portion toward a sheet discharge portion. A second sheet conveying path extends, from a diverging position in the first sheet conveying path, toward a switch-to-back portion. A third sheet conveying path is a conveying path for the sheet that is reversed by the switch-to-back portion. A first movable guiding portion is rotatable between a first posture in which the sheet that has reached the diverging position is guided toward the sheet discharge portion, and a second posture in which the sheet is guided into the second conveying path. A second movable guiding portion is rotatable between a third posture and a fourth posture, in the second sheet conveying path. In the third posture, the second sheet conveying path is formed in conjunction with the first movable guiding portion. In the fourth posture, the third sheet conveying path is formed.

A removable media handling module includes a body that is horizontally slidable into and removable from an imaging apparatus. The media handling module includes a lower media guide extending between a front and a rear of the body in a direction of insertion of the body into the imaging apparatus. With the media handling module inserted into the imaging apparatus, the lower media guide is positioned parallel to and spaced from a corresponding upper media guide mounted in the imaging apparatus to form at least a portion of a duplex media path therebetween. The media handling module includes a media feed through channel extending from a bottom of the body to an entrance of a simplex media path to allow media to be fed from a media tray below the media handling module and into the simplex media path when the media handling module is installed in the imaging apparatus.

A document conveyance apparatus includes a first conveyance path, a first image reading part, a second conveyance path, a third conveyance path and a branch guide. The first conveyance path extends linearly. The first image reading part reads an image on one face of the document conveyed along the first conveyance path. The second conveyance path branches from the first conveyance path at a branch point on a downstream side of the first reading part in a conveyance direction of the document and is formed to be curved. The third conveyance path branches from the first conveyance path at the branch point and extends linearly in a same extending direction as an extending direction of the first conveyance path. The branch guide is provided at the branch point and guides the document to the second conveyance path or to the third conveyance path.

A paper sheet conveyance device for generating an airstream in a conveyance duct and for conveying a paper sheet inserted into the conveyance duct by being pushed from behind by a conveyance subsidiary body moving in the conveyance duct by receiving the airstream. The paper sheet conveyance device includes an air volume adjustment unit that adjusts a strength of the airstream according to a position of the conveyance subsidiary body moving in the conveyance path.

A paper sheet conveyance device for generating an airstream in a conveyance duct and for conveying a paper sheet inserted into the conveyance duct by being pushed from behind by a conveyance subsidiary body moving in the conveyance duct by receiving the airstream. The paper sheet conveyance device includes an air volume adjustment unit that adjusts a strength of the airstream according to a position of the conveyance subsidiary body moving in the conveyance path.

A sheet manufacturing apparatus has a manufacturing unit that makes a sheet; and a plurality of supply units that supply loaded feedstock to the manufacturing unit; and the feedstocks supplied from the plural supply units are conveyed overlapping each other.

An image recording device is provided, having a recording unit configured to record an image on a sheet, and a tray disposed below the recording unit. The tray includes a sheet holding surface configured to hold the sheet. Additionally, the image recording device includes a sheet feeder disposed between the recording unit and the tray. The sheet feeder includes a roller for feeding the sheet from the tray. The roller is configured to move between a first roller position in which the roller contacts the sheet holding surface of the tray and a second roller position in which the roller is separated from the sheet holding surface. A return guide, disposed between the recording unit and the sheet feeder, defines a second conveying path to guide the sheet having an image recorded on one side thereof back to the feed guide. The return guide has a first opening configured to accommodate the roller of the sheet feeder when the roller is in the second roller position.
