An image forming apparatus has an apparatus main body, a sheet conveyance passage, a cover member, a conveyance unit, a sheet tray, a first sheet feeding portion, and a feed unit. The sheet conveyance passage is inside the apparatus main body. The conveyance unit is inside the cover member and is supported to be pivotable between an open position and a closed position. The first sheet feeding portion has a feed unit. The conveyance unit has a swing guide of which a lower end part is swingably supported on the apparatus main body and which, in the closed position, is located in a first position to face the feed unit and constitute part of the sheet conveyance passage and, in the open position, is located in a second position to be located away from the feed unit.

An image forming apparatus has an apparatus main body, a sheet conveyance passage, a cover member, a conveyance unit, a sheet tray, a first sheet feeding portion, and a feed unit. The sheet conveyance passage is inside the apparatus main body. The conveyance unit is inside the cover member and is supported to be pivotable between an open position and a closed position. The first sheet feeding portion has a feed unit. The conveyance unit has a swing guide of which a lower end part is swingably supported on the apparatus main body and which, in the closed position, is located in a first position to face the feed unit and constitute part of the sheet conveyance passage and, in the open position, is located in a second position to be located away from the feed unit.

A sheet conveying device includes a sheet conveyor, a guide, a rotary conveyor, a gripper, and an adjuster. The sheet conveyor is configured to convey a sheet. The guide is configured to guide the sheet conveyed by the sheet conveyor. The rotary conveyor is disposed downstream from the guide in a sheet conveyance direction. The gripper is mounted on the rotary conveyor, the gripper configured to grip a leading end of the sheet. The adjuster is configured to adjust a sheet entering range of the gripper to which the leading end of the sheet enters, along with conveyance of the sheet conveyor, in a direction intersecting a sheet surface.

A conveyance apparatus for conveying a sheet includes (i) a first conveyance roller pair, (ii) a second conveyance roller pair configured to convey the sheet to reach a position where the sheet contacts the first conveyance roller pair, (iii) a moving member movable between a restricting position where the sheet is regulated not to reach the first conveyance roller pair and a retracting position, to be moved to the retracting position from the restricting position by being pushed by the sheet, (iv) a first guide disposed between the moving member and the second conveyance roller pair, and (v) a first opposing guide opposing the first guide. One of the first guide and the first opposing guide includes a first curved portion which the sheet contacts, and the other one thereof includes a second curved portion which the sheet contacts.

The pair of rollers includes a first roller and a second roller disposed in contact with the first roller. The pair of rollers is configured to hold a sheet between the first roller and the second roller. The biasing member is configured to bias the first roller toward the second roller. The biasing support is configured to support the biasing member and has a guide target member configured to slide along the guide member to move the biasing support. The biasing force changer is configured to change a biasing force of the biasing member along with movement of the biasing support. The guide target member has a portion projecting into a sheet conveyance passage through which the sheet is conveyed by the pair of rollers.

A sheet conveying device includes a pair of rollers, a biasing member, a guide member, a biasing support, and a biasing force changer. The pair of rollers includes a first roller and a second roller disposed in contact with the first roller. The pair of rollers is configured to hold a sheet between the first roller and the second roller. The biasing member is configured to bias the first roller toward the second roller. The biasing support is configured to support the biasing member and has a guide target member configured to slide along the guide member to move the biasing support. The biasing force changer is configured to change a biasing force of the biasing member along with movement of the biasing support. The guide target member has a portion projecting into a sheet conveyance passage through which the sheet is conveyed by the pair of rollers.

The pressurizing roller presses a medium against the adhesive layer while reciprocating in a Y direction. The roller driving unit generates a driving force for the pressurizing roller to reciprocate. The control unit controls the roller driving unit. The pressurizing roller is separated from the adhesive layer along with reciprocation. The control unit is capable of detecting a load of the roller driving unit, and determines whether the magnitude of the adhesive force of the adhesive layer is less than a target value, based on the load.
