A media processing device includes: a hopper for supporting a stack of media units (e.g. cards), the hopper including (i) a gate wall configured to abut leading edges of the media units and (ii) an outlet defined at an end of the gate wall; a pick roller at the outlet for engaging an outer one of the media units in the stack and dispensing the outer media unit from the hopper to a media processing path; the gate wall including a flexible gate at the outlet, the flexible gate configured to deflect toward the media processing path responsive to the outer media unit being driven into the flexible gate by the pick roller, wherein the outer media unit deflects when passing by the flexible gate, permitting the outer media unit to be dispensed from the hopper.

A medium placing device (feeding tray) includes a placement unit, a regulation unit (edge guide), a displacement unit, a detection unit, and an adjustment unit. The regulation unit (edge guide) includes a first regulation member (first edge guide) and a second regulation member (second edge guide). The displacement unit is capable of moving the first regulation member (first edge guide) and the second regulation member (second edge guide) in directions opposite to each other along a first direction. The detection unit is provided between the placement unit and the adjustment unit.
SHEET MATERIAL DETECTING DEVICE, SHEET MATERIAL FEEDING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A sheet material detecting device includes a leading end flag, a pair of middle size flags, a pair of large size flags which take stand-by positions and operating positions by contacting a sheet, respectively. Each of middle size flags changes from the stand-by position to the operating position linking with changing to the operating position of each of large size flags. A link is moved from a first position to a second position in a case that both of middle size flags take the operating positions and is restricted in movement to the second position in a case that both of middle size fags do not take the operating portions. A controller detects a width of the sheet base on a timing of the operating position of the leading end flag and a timing of movement of the link from the first position to the second position.
PLATEN CONVEYANCE DEVICE
A platen conveyance device includes a first conveyance path, a platen supporter, a second conveyance path, and a positioner. The first conveyance path is configured to convey a platen to a pretreatment device. The platen supporter is configured to support the platen conveyed by the first conveyance path. The second conveyance path is provided with the platen supporter. The second conveyance path is configured to convey the platen supporter to a printer. The positioner is configured to position the platen supported by the platen supporter at a prescribed printing position in a horizontal direction.

A platen conveyance device includes a first conveyance path, a platen supporter, a second conveyance path, and a positioner. The first conveyance path is configured to convey a platen to a pretreatment device. The platen supporter is configured to support the platen conveyed by the first conveyance path. The second conveyance path is provided with the platen supporter. The second conveyance path is configured to convey the platen supporter to a printer. The positioner is configured to position the platen supported by the platen supporter at a prescribed printing position in a horizontal direction.
Battery material stacking device
A battery material stacking device sequentially stacks sheet-like workpieces pertaining to a battery material at high speed. The battery material stacking device is provided with a conveyance mechanism configured to convey workpieces in a predetermined direction, a rotor arranged below the conveyance mechanism to rotate about a predetermined rotation shaft, a plurality of holding portions provided on a peripheral portion of the rotor to hold the workpieces, and a stacking table configured to stack the workpieces thereon. The plurality of holding portions is configured to hold one surface of each of the workpieces which is being conveyed with the other surface of each of the workpieces being held by the conveyance mechanism, then convey the workpieces in accordance with a rotation of the rotor while reversing the workpieces, and stack the workpieces on the stacking table with the other surface facing the stacking table.

A sheet folding apparatus includes a folding roller pair that forms a first fold line owing to that the folding roller pair nips a first position of the sheet, which has a loop to be formed on an upstream side of the folding roller pair due to continuous conveyance of the sheet by a conveyance roller pair in a stopped state in which a front end of the sheet being conveyed from the conveyance roller pair is nipped by the folding roller pair, as starting conveyance of the sheet while a pushing plate is pushing the sheet and moving toward the folding roller pair, and thereafter, forms a second fold line owing to that the folding roller pair nips a second position of the sheet with the loop formed as aligning with a rear end of the sheet.

SHEET FEEDING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A sheet feeding apparatus includes a sheet stacker, an air blower, a suction feeder, a lifting mechanism, an elevation detection sensor, an elevation detection sensor, a feed detection sensor, and processing circuitry. The air blower blows air to float an uppermost sheet of sheets stacked on the sheet stacker. The processing circuitry drives the lifting mechanism such that the sheet stacker is lifted by an elevation amount determined based on a sheet thickness of the sheets stacked on the sheet stacker, each time a sheet is detected when a number of sheets detected is smaller than a threshold number of sheets, and stops lifting of the sheet stacker until a sheet is not detected when the number of sheets reaches the threshold number of sheets, while repeatedly feeding the uppermost sheet and counting the number of sheets.
