Disclosed is a drawing apparatus including: a base member; and a drawing member that is attached so as to be capable of being drawn and pressed in a reciprocating direction with respect to the base member, wherein the base member has a couple application mechanism that applies a couple for correcting skewing of the drawing member with respect to the reciprocating direction to the drawing member as a reaction of a force by which the drawing member is pressed, and wherein the couple application mechanism is configured so that a distance between action lines of two forces generating the couple becomes large as a pressing amount of the drawing member with respect to the base member increases.

An image forming apparatus performs skew correction by bringing a leading end of a conveyed sheet in contact with a registration roller pair being in a stopped state and by forming a first loop with a loop roller pair, and thereafter, refeeds the sheet to an image former by adjusting timing. In a case of feeding a sheet with a length equal to or longer than a prescribed length, after having formed the first loop, the image forming apparatus forms a second loop in a loop accommodator that is disposed on an upstream side than the loop roller pair and accommodates a formed loop.

According to one embodiment, a paper conveyance apparatus includes: a paper feed section on which paper is placed; a first roller configured to be arranged at the upstream side of a reading position where the paper is read to convey the paper at a first speed; a second roller configured to be arranged between the first roller and the paper feed section to convey the paper at a second speed faster than the first speed; a motor; a fourth roller configured to be arranged between the first roller and the reading position and driven by the motor to convey the paper to the reading position at the first speed; and a transmission section configured to always transmit a rotation driving force of the motor to the first roller and the fourth roller.

A sheet detection unit includes a photo-interrupter, a shutter holder, and shutter members held to be movable relative to the shutter holder. The shutter members include a sheet rear end detection portion capable of switching an optical axis between a light-interrupted state and a light-transmitted state and each are supported to be movable to an abutment position where the shutter member causes an abutment surface to protrude, and also movable to a retracted position where the shutter member is retracted from a sheet conveyance path. Based on a detection signal output from the photo-interrupter by the sheet front end detection portion and the sheet rear end detection portion moving relative to the optical axis, a control unit determines the presence or absence of a sheet.

A sheet conveying apparatus that has a first conveying roller pair, and a second conveying roller pair, and corrects skew feeding of a sheet by a tip of the sheet abutting against a nip portion of the first conveying roller pair, including: a conveying unit that can shift and has a third conveying roller provided between the first conveying roller pair and the second conveying roller pair, wherein when a first sheet is conveyed, a tip of the first sheet is guided with the third conveying roller located in an abutting position where the third conveying roller abuts on a counter roller, and wherein when a second sheet with a basis weight greater than that of the first sheet, a tip of the second sheet is guided with the third conveying roller located in the separating position where the third conveying roller is separated from the counter roller.

A sheet conveying device includes: a skew detection section configured to detect a tilt of a sheet to be conveyed; two skew correction roller sections that are arranged side by side in a sheet width direction and are independently able to be driven; a downstream-side conveying roller section arranged at a downstream side of the skew correction roller sections in a sheet conveying direction; and a control section configured to control conveying operations of the skew correction roller sections based on a detection result of the skew detection section, wherein at least one of the skew correction roller sections is configured to be movable in the sheet width direction, and the control section moves at least one of the skew correction roller sections outward in the sheet width direction at predetermined timing.

A document conveying apparatus is provided with a document tray and a discharge tray disposed below the document tray. The document tray includes an upper tray member, a lower tray member, a movable tray member, and a driving portion configured to move the upper tray member and the movable tray member integrally to a raised position and a lowered position. The movable tray member is configured to be moved in a width direction between a first position and a second position in which the movable tray member is retracted into below the upper tray member. The document tray includes a shutter configured to cover a gap created between the upper tray member and the lower tray member. The gap is created by the upper tray member and the movable tray member being moved to the raised position and the movable tray member being moved to the second position.

A sheet conveying apparatus includes a first rotator pair, a second rotator pair provided downstream, in a sheet conveying direction, of the first rotator pair, and a moving member having an abutment portion. the first rotator pair, the second rotator pair and the moving member are configured such that a rear end of the sheet does not pass on a moving trajectory of the abutment portion when the moving member moves from a passage state in which the sheet is allowed to pass through the abutment portion as the abutment portion is pressed by the sheet conveyed by the first rotator pair to an abutment state in which the abutment portion protrudes into a sheet conveying path.

The sheet feeding apparatus of the invention includes a sheet stacking portion, a rotating body, a contact member, a conveyance guide, a driving source, a shutter member and a torque limiter. The torque limiter is disposed between the rotating body and the driving source, transmits a driving force of the driving source to the rotating body in a state that a load in the sheet feeding direction of less than a predetermined torque is applied to the rotating body, and not transmit the driving force of the driving source to the rotating body in a state that the load in the sheet feeding direction of more than the predetermined torque is applied to the rotating body.

A sheet conveying apparatus includes a first rotator pair, a second rotator pair provided downstream, in a sheet conveying direction, of the first rotator pair, and a moving member having an abutment portion. the first rotator pair, the second rotator pair and the moving member are configured such that a rear end of the sheet does not pass on a moving trajectory of the abutment portion when the moving member moves from a passage state in which the sheet is allowed to pass through the abutment portion as the abutment portion is pressed by the sheet conveyed by the first rotator pair to an abutment state in which the abutment portion protrudes into a sheet conveying path.
