Web material dispenser and method
A web material dispenser includes a housing and a pivotable roll support assembly provided therein. A first mandrel is provided at a first attachment location of the roll support assembly to support a first roll of web material. A second mandrel is provided at a second location of the roll support assembly to support a second roll of web material. The web material dispenser permits one-handed operation to replace the rolls of web material and to change positions of the mandrels within the dispenser. The roll support assembly may have a linkage arm and/or a roll support arm. Positions of the first and second mandrels relative to the dispenser's opening can be switched by pivoting the linkage arm relative to the housing and by pivoting the roll support arm relative to the linkage arm. A method for switching positions of rolls in the web material dispenser is also provided.
Material dispensing systems
A material dispensing system including a first frame and a first application head. The first application head supported by the first frame including a first bias ply assembly comprising a bias ply roll supported on a bias ply dispenser unit, the first bias ply assembly configured to pass bias ply material along a bias path; and a first non-bias ply assembly comprising a non-bias ply roll supported by a non-bias ply dispenser unit, the non-bias ply assembly configured to pass non-bias ply material along a non-bias path; wherein the bias path and the non-bias path are substantially parallel. Another aspect provides a material dispensing system including a first frame and a first application head supported thereby; and a second frame and a second application head supported thereby; wherein the first frame and the second frame move in an X direction during operation. Another aspect includes preparing a composite article.
Roll holder assembly for loading media rolls in wide format printers
A media roll holder assembly for a roll is detachably supported in a printing system. A rotational drive includes a roll engaging element configured for fittingly engaging and driving a drive engaging element of a roller, for example an Oldham coupling. A first guide surface is configured to support and direct the roller in a loading direction. A second guide surface at least partially extends at an angle with respect to the first guide surface, such that movement of the roller over the first guide surface brings the drive engaging element in contact with the second guide surface. The second guide surface directs the drive engaging element into a predetermined orientation, which orientation aligns the drive engaging element with the roll engaging element in a loading orientation, such that further movement of the roller in the loading direction inserts the drive engaging element into the roll engaging element.

Method and systems for tracking cable drums and length of cable on the drum
The present disclosure refers to a method and a system for tracking cable drums and length of cable on the drum. A method includes attaching a tracker device with a tracker identifier to a cable drum with a drum identifier, said drum identifier being associated in a database with drum dimensions and with cable dimensions of a cable stored on the drum. The method includes associating in the database the drum identifier also with the tracker identifier. The method includes when an event comprising at least a shock and/or a number of rotations of the cable drum around a longitudinal axis occurs, activating a first electronic circuit of the tracker device including a sensing device that detects at least the event, storing the detected event in a local memory of the tracker device and switching the first electronic circuit to standby mode after the detected event is stored.
Dispensing assembly for selectively dispensing a plurality of supplies of rolled sheet material
In one aspect, the present disclosure is directed to a dispenser assembly for dispensing supplies of sheet material. The dispensing assembly can include a carrier supporting the supplies of sheet material and being moveable along a track between various dispensing positions. The dispenser assembly also can include a carrier pivoting assembly with a lever that engages one of the supplies of sheet material and rotates during dispensing thereof, as well as one or more biased pins connected to the lever and configured to engage locking features provided along the track to support the carrier in one of the dispensing positions. The biased pins further can be configured to retract with rotation of the lever such that they disengage the locking features so the carrier to moves along the track to different dispensing position. Other aspects also are described.
FILM DISPENSER FOR A WRAPPING APPARATUS AND RELATED METHODS
There is provided a film dispenser including a pre-stretch assembly, a dancer bar and a dancer bar control assembly. In response to a variation of a film feed requirement, the dancer bar is movable over a displacement range between a first position and at least one second position. The dancer bar is in the first position when a tension in the material web is below a threshold and in the at least one second position when the tension in the material web is equal to or above the threshold. The dancer bar control assembly is connected to the pre-stretch assembly and the dancer bar and is configured to bias the dancer bar with a constant force over the displacement range, monitor a displacement of the dancer bar and generate a speed command based thereon, and send the speed command to a motor to adjust the film delivery speed.
