A device for winding up a film at a packaging machine, the device including a reception mandrel drivable for rotation about a rotation axis and a reception sleeve for the film for being pushed onto the reception mandrel. The reception sleeve may be formed by segments arranged next to each other along a circumference or perimeter of the reception sleeve, wherein neighboring or adjacent segments may be pivotably connected to each other. The reception mandrel may be formed as rigid body having engagement structures that are configured to cooperate with shape features of an inner circumference or perimeter of the reception sleeve, when the reception sleeve has been pushed onto the reception mandrel, so that a rotation of the reception mandrel about the rotation axis causes the reception sleeve to rotate with the reception mandrel.

A device for micro-embossing paper includes at least one micro-embossing unit to micro-emboss a wet paper ply. The micro-embossing unit includes a micro-embossing cylinder and a counter cylinder facing the micro-embossing cylinder at an embossing area where the wet paper ply is subjected to micro-embossing, and a heater to dry the wet paper ply. The micro-embossing cylinder includes a side surface partially wrapped by the wet paper ply. The heater heats at least one portion of the side surface partially wrapped by the wet paper ply to dry the wet paper ply.

A device for micro-embossing paper includes at least one micro-embossing unit to micro-emboss a wet paper ply. Turn-up method and a turn-up device for a reel-up for reeling of fiber webs
In a turn-up method for a reel-up for reeling of fiber webs, a web travelling in direction (S) is cut by two water jet nozzles moving in a transverse direction in relation to the web travelling direction (S). Two cuts (C1, C2) are formed by two water jet nozzles starting from the edges of the web (W) and moving to the web center where the cuts (C1, C2) cross or meet forming a V-shaped tail end (V1). After the cuts the movement of the water jet nozzles is stopped and after the return movement of the water jet nozzles, cutting is started again from the center toward the edges so that the web W is cut by two cuts (C3, C4) and a substantially V-shaped beginning end (V2) to the web W is formed and between the cuts (C1, C2) for the tail end (V1) and the cuts (C3, C4) for the beginning end (V2) there is formed one web reject part (R) with two substantially V-shaped cuts. A turn-up device for a reel-up for reeling of fiber webs has two water jet nozzles, in which the cutting by the water jet nozzles (10,12) may be stopped between cutting of a tail end (V1) and cutting of a beginning end (V2) for a selected time for forming only, wherein there is one reject part (R) in the turn-up and the cross-direction travel distance (L1, L2) of each nozzle is substantially shorter than the width (L) of the web (W).
Turn-up method and a turn-up device for a reel-up for reeling of fiber webs
In a turn-up method for a reel-up for reeling of fiber webs, a web travelling in direction (S) is cut by two water jet nozzles moving in a transverse direction in relation to the web travelling direction (S). Two cuts (C1, C2) are formed by two water jet nozzles starting from the edges of the web (W) and moving to the web center where the cuts (C1, C2) cross or meet forming a V-shaped tail end (V1). After the cuts the movement of the water jet nozzles is stopped and after the return movement of the water jet nozzles, cutting is started again from the center toward the edges so that the web W is cut by two cuts (C3, C4) and a substantially V-shaped beginning end (V2) to the web W is formed and between the cuts (C1, C2) for the tail end (V1) and the cuts (C3, C4) for the beginning end (V2) there is formed one web reject part (R) with two substantially V-shaped cuts. A turn-up device for a reel-up for reeling of fiber webs has two water jet nozzles, in which the cutting by the water jet nozzles (10,12) may be stopped between cutting of a tail end (V1) and cutting of a beginning end (V2) for a selected time for forming only, wherein there is one reject part (R) in the turn-up and the cross-direction travel distance (L1, L2) of each nozzle is substantially shorter than the width (L) of the web (W).

A web conveying device configured to convey a web and rewind the web into a roll includes: a moving roller arranged between a send-in port for the web and a rewinding roll which is the web rolled, the moving roller configured to be movable in an up-down direction to apply tension to the web or release the tension; and a controller configured to perform control of moving the moving roller to an upper limit position in the up-down direction in an operation of stopping conveyance of the web.
Methods and systems for converting and packaging coreless paper products
A method of converting a plurality of coreless roll products includes providing a first support structure and winding a paper product around the first support structure. The method also includes cutting through the paper product and the first support structure to form a plurality of cut portions of the paper product each wound around a cut portion of the first support structure. The method further includes removing the cut portion of the first support structure from each of the cut portions of the paper product to form a plurality of coreless roll products each comprising a center aperture. A method of preparing a coreless roll product for storage or shipment includes providing a coreless roll product comprising a center aperture and inserting a temporary support device into the center aperture of the coreless roll product. The method also includes expanding the temporary support device to approximate dimensions of the center aperture, wherein the temporary support device is configured to reduce deformation of the center aperture during storage or shipment.
Methods and systems for converting and packaging coreless paper products
A method of converting a plurality of coreless roll products includes providing a first support structure and winding a paper product around the first support structure. The method also includes cutting through the paper product and the first support structure to form a plurality of cut portions of the paper product each wound around a cut portion of the first support structure. The method further includes removing the cut portion of the first support structure from each of the cut portions of the paper product to form a plurality of coreless roll products each comprising a center aperture. A method of preparing a coreless roll product for storage or shipment includes providing a coreless roll product comprising a center aperture and inserting a temporary support device into the center aperture of the coreless roll product. The method also includes expanding the temporary support device to approximate dimensions of the center aperture, wherein the temporary support device is configured to reduce deformation of the center aperture during storage or shipment.
