Wrapping web assembly and wrapping method

There is provided a wrapping web (11) having transverse tape assemblies (12) released from a double sided release film (13) and cut to length. The tape assemblies (12) comprise a double sided adhesive tape portion (14) adhered to the baling web (11) and an adhesive tape laminate portion (15) having a release surface overlying the double sided adhesive tape portion (14). The exposed adhesive layer (17) of the adhesive tape (15) permanently adheres to the back surface (24) of the web (11) as it is rolled up. The wrapping web assembly (10) is deployed by unwinding from an accumulator spool into a baling assembly. As the web (11) unspools from the accumulator spool, peel forces are applied to the tape assembly (12) causing separation of the adhesive (14) and double sided adhesive (15) tape portions. This presents an exposed adhesive layer (20) whereby the web (11) can be closed over itself to close the wrapping of a product such as cotton.

The invention provides a heat-shrinkable polyester film roll containing a paper tube and a heat-shrinkable polyester film wound around the paper tube to form the heat-shrinkable polyester film roll, wherein (1) the film winding length is 2000-20000 m, (2) the film width is 400-2500 mm, (3) the film thickness is 5-30 m, (4) unevenness in thickness in the film widthwise direction in a film roll surface layer part is 12% or less, (5) the paper tube has an inner diameter of 3 inches, a difference in clearance of the paper tube in a widthwise direction after removal of the film from the film roll is 0.5 mm or less, and a flat compressive strength of the paper tube after removal of the film is 1700 N/100 mm or more, and (6) the average value of winding hardness in the widthwise direction in the film roll surface layer part is 500-850.

Rolled graphite sheet

A rolled graphite sheet includes a rod-shaped body and a graphite sheet having a length of 1 m or more and a width shorter than the length. The graphite sheet is wound around the rod-shaped body and is rolled in a length direction. When a length direction-end of the graphite sheet is pulled with a force of 1.5 N/cm in a direction parallel to a tangent of a cross-sectional circle of the rolled graphite sheet while fixing the rod-shaped body, the end moves 5 mm or less in the direction parallel to the tangent of the circle.

A reel handling machine includes first and second re-reeling assemblies coupled to a frame. The re-reeling assemblies each include a reel mount supporting a first reel and a re-reel mount supporting a second reel. The re-reeling assemblies operated to unwind a product strip from the first reel and rewind the product strip on the second reel. The reel handling machine includes a reel manipulator positioned proximate to the re-reeling assemblies configured to automatically remove the second reel from the re-reel mount after the product strip is rewound on the second reel and move the second reel to a remote location.

A core for winding sheet material is proved. The core comprises a cylindrical tube having a longitudinally oriented slot formed therein, and a strip of soft material located in the slot. Because of the geometry of the slot and the strip, the strip may be softer in the central region but firmer where the core transitions from the relatively soft strip to the relatively hard tube. The leading edge of the sheet material imbeds itself into the soft central region of the strip as additional layers are wound around the core.
