Nip roller and method of manufacturing film roll body
A nip roller includes a core material having a surface coated with rubber. The nip roller having a support length L.sub.1 of 5 m or longer. The rubber surface has a hardness H (deg) equal to or lower than 65 deg as measured by a JIS K6253 Type A durometer (A type). Mass W (kg) of the nip roller and second moment of area I.sub.1 (m.sup.4) and the Young's modulus E.sub.1 (Pa) of the core material satisfy E.sub.1I.sub.1/W80000.
Stress Tearable Tape
A stress tearable tape includes an elongated film and a hand tearing arrangement. The film has a non-adhesive surface and an opposed adhesive surface, and defines a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction. The hand tearing arrangement includes a plurality of pinholes formed along the longitudinal direction of the film. With the combination application of internal force, shear tension, compression tension, pinhole arrangement, and material's biaxial structure, and users' habit together, each of the pinholes enables the film being torn by hand with a force starting at one of the pinholes, such that the film is hand tearable at any section in the transverse direction thereof.
REWINDING MACHINE AND RELATIVE METHOD FOR REWINDING AND FORMING A ROLL OF PAPER
A rewinding machine and a related method, the machine including three rollers having axes parallel to one another and perpendicular to the advancing direction of the paper, wherein two lower and upper winding rollers collaborate with a third oscillable roller under pressure on a roll or log being formed identifying a winding area, wherein the paper being wound passes over the upper winding roller and the finished roll comes out from an outlet opening defined between the lower roller and the third roller, where the cores for the rolls are fed one after the other by a conveyor and inserted by a thruster in a channel formed beneath the upper roller, the lower and upper winding rollers being supported in rotation at the ends of their axes in a mobile manner and being associated with an actuator device for a translation in a direction parallel to a first straight line joining the axes of the lower and upper winding rollers and symmetrical with respect to a growth straight line of the roll, where the growth straight line of the roll is arranged perpendicular to the first straight line joining the two axes of the lower and upper winding rollers and equally spaced between them.

Electrostatically pinned glass roll, methods and apparatus for making
A roll (10) of glass ribbon (20) and an interleaf material (40) disposed in alternating layers, wherein a layer of the interleaf material is pinned to an adjacent layer of the glass ribbon by an electrostatic force that is of a value so that a shear force required to cause slip between the interleaf material and the glass ribbon is greater than or equal to 10 times that required to cause slip between them when not electrostatically pinned together. Methods for winding and unwinding the roll, as well as an apparatus for winding the glass ribbon and interleaf material into a roll, are also disclosed.
