Method and apparatus for forming a wound structure

A method and apparatus for the production of wound elements. The method comprising: providing a plurality of first electrical web elements; disposing at least one of the first electrical web elements upon a conveying element, wherein a first or second face of the disposed first electrical web elements is disposed in a face to face relationship with the conveying element; providing a plurality of second electrical web elements; disposing at least one of the second electrical web elements upon the conveying element at a predetermined spacing from the disposed first electrical web elements and in a face to face relationship with the conveying element, wherein the predetermined spacing is at least as long as the length of the first electrical web element; and disposing an electrically insulating separator web element in a face to face relationship with the disposed electrical web elements.

Looped pile film roll core

The disclosure generally relates to a looped pile film roll core used for winding a polymeric film, a method of winding film on the looped pile film roll core, and a roll of film that includes the looped pile film roll core. The disclosure describes an article and a process to reduce the core impressions created by the starting end of a web on the adjacent web layers next to the core. In one particular embodiment, the present disclosure can lead to a reduction in the amount and severity of such core impressions on a wound polymeric film, by reducing the amount of stress in adjacent layers of wound web.

High back coil car designed to facilitate automatic banding on the coil car

A strip process line has a high back coil car for automatically banding coil of metal strip on the coil car. The process line runs while banding occurs on the coil car. The coil car includes an outer frame, and coil receiving saddle with a pair of blocker rolls or a V saddle, and a hold down arm and a plurality of strap guide channels. By the high back car being docked with an automatic loading station, the process line can run while the banding takes place on the coil car, and keeps the operator safely away from the coil car until the banding is completed.

Rolled products for one handed dispensing

The present invention provides rolled products, such as spirally wound rolls of bath tissue comprising a plurality of separably joined sheets, that may be repeatably and reliably dispensed by a user with a single hand. Single handed dispensing of the rolled products is facilitated by the web having a ratio of detach strength, typically having units of grams (g) to cross-machine direction (CD) tensile, having units of grams per 76.2 mm, of 0.65 or less, such as from about 0.10 to 0.65. In this manner rolled bath tissue products may have a CD tensile from about 400 to about 1,000 g/76.2 mm and a detach strength from about 100 to about 500 g.

Powder filling processes

A method for filling a plurality of microdepressions in a major surface of a web with finely divided powder in which the web is fed continuously to and through a powder filling stage including a driven roller. A method of manufacturing an elongate carrier with microdepressions containing finely divided powder comprising steps filling a plurality of microdepressions in a major surface of a web as described, removing from upper surface of the web excess powder not filled within the microdepressions and remaining on areas of the surface between the depressions, and optionally slitting and/or cutting the web in width and/or length.
