WRAPPING MATERIALS FOR SOLID OBJECTS
Improved object wrapping materials exhibiting a number of beneficial properties to overcome prior deficiencies are provided. Such properties include the inclusion of a separation interface overlay that allows for greater rigidity at the leading and trailing edges of such wraps. Also, the inclusion of shear-reducing wrap material portions is described, as well as recoil reduction structures within the leading edge regions. Furthermore, core adhesive additions allow for greater resiliency to the base wrap material as it unwinds therefrom, reducing potential waste wrap products by permitting greater amounts of wrap materials in use. Other considerations include the ability, through proper configuration designs, to position a wrap separation indicator within a certain range of distances from the trailing edge, thereby providing greater reliability of wrap application device disengagement during wrap application. Such benefits are thus supplied individually and in tandem for improved versatility and utility of such wrap materials.
Core with Cushion Strip
A core for winding sheet material is proved. The core comprises a cylindrical tube having a longitudinally oriented slot formed therein, and a strip of soft material located in the slot. Because of the geometry of the slot and the strip, the strip may be softer in the central region but firmer where the core transitions from the relatively soft strip to the relatively hard tube. The leading edge of the sheet material imbeds itself into the soft central region of the strip as additional layers are wound around the core.
Model Reference Adaptive Web and Winding Control
In a controller for a converting line: (a) mechanical characterization module generates an estimate of an applied web force at a driven roller based upon velocity and torque signals, and mechanical properties associated with an upstream and downstream roller, one or both of which may be the driven roller; (b) a web stiffness estimator module generates a span stiffness estimate, a previous span tension estimate, and a span time constant based upon the span length, the velocity signals from the upstream and downstream roller sensors, a span tension signal from the span tension sensor, and the applied web force estimate from the mechanical characterization module; and (c) a tension control module generates a velocity trim command signal for the driven roller based on the span stiffness estimate, the previous span tension estimate, a web span time constant, a span tension signal, and a span tension setpoint.

METHOD FOR WINDING A FOIL ONTO A WINDING CORE, AND COIL
A method for winding a foil onto a winding core in order to form a coil and for unwinding the foil from the winding core. The foil comprises a support material of an electrode foil and an electrode foil, which has at least one active material, or a separator foil which are used as components of a battery cell. The winding core has a perforated circumferential surface with at least one opening. A coil is also provided that has at least a winding core and a foil which is wound on the winding core.
Real time tissue paper production correction device
A device for providing improved measurements of logs. The device includes a feed path of the logs, configured to feed the logs in a direction orthogonal to the axis of the logs; and one or more pick-up members spaced from one another in a direction transverse to the feed path of the logs. The pick-up members are adapted to pick up individual logs from a pick-up position along the feed path; and transfer each log from the measuring position back to the feed path substantially in the position in which it was picked up.
Glass roll, device for producing glass roll, and process for producing glass roll
A glass roll reliably prevents a glass film from breaking from an end surface of the glass film as an origin of breakage. The glass roll is formed by winding the glass film into a roll while superposing the glass film on a protective sheet. The glass film is formed by an overflow downdraw method to have a thickness of 1 m or more and 200 m or less, and has each end surface in a width direction formed as a cut surface cut by laser splitting.

Apparatus and method for winding and unwinding web material
The present invention relates to apparatus and methods for winding and unwinding web materials, the web materials having a plurality of narrow lanes which form a spool. In a first aspect of the invention each lane of web material is defined by a width measured in the axial direction of the spool and between a minimum and a maximum radial height measured radially from a central axis of the spool. Each lane is wound, in turn, with web material up to the maximum radial height, the web material is folded by a first, second, third and fourth folds so that the web material is realigned parallel to the adjacent lane and wound to form the adjacent lane.
