METHOD OF FABRICATING A TEXTILE STRUCTURE OF VARYING THICKNESS

A method of fabricating a textile structure of varying thickness including using a loom to weave a fiber texture in the form of a strip extending lengthwise along a longitudinal axis and widthwise along an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, and causing the texture to be wound under tension onto a mandrel. The texture includes a portion presenting extra thickness. During the winding of the texture, a spacer element is interposed between adjacent turns of the fiber texture onto the mandrel. Each spacer element extends in the width direction of the texture over a portion thereof situated outside the portion of extra thickness and presenting, over the portion of the texture situated outside the portion of extra thickness, a thickness that corresponds at least to the difference between thicknesses of the portion of extra thickness and of the portion of the texture situated outside the portion of extra thickness.

FLEXIBLE GLASS LAMINATE STRUCTURES FOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN AND OTHER APPLICATIONS

A flexible glass laminate structure includes a flexible glass substrate having a thickness of no more than 0.3 mm. The flexible glass laminate structure includes a flexible glass layer including the flexible glass substrate. A property control layer is laminated to the flexible glass layer. A neutral axis of the flexible glass laminate is located outside the flexible glass layer when the flexible glass layer is in a compressive bend configuration.

Ultrathin chemically toughened glass article and method for the production of such a glass article

A method for producing an ultrathin chemically toughened glass article is provided that includes: providing an ultrathin glass sheet with a first surface and a second surface joined by at least one edge, having a thickness between the first and the second surface, chemically toughening the ultrathin glass sheet to produce an ultrathin toughened glass article. The method includes applying an edge pre-treatment to the at least one edge, preferably all edges, of the ultrathin glass sheet prior to the chemical toughening in order to reduce and/or blunt edge defects and to increase resistance to breakage of the ultrathin glass sheet during the chemical toughening.

Paper Product Center Sponge Tube and Method
20170181586 · 2017-06-29 ·

A roll of absorbent paper product having a central tube about which absorbent paper product, paper towels or toilet tissue, is wound. The central tube consists of one or more rows of pre-curved, compacted sponges for use when the absorbent paper product has been completely unwound therefrom. The individual sponge units can be pre-infused with one or more cleaners, waxes, etc. A method for making such central tube sponges is also disclosed.

THIN GLASS ROLL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME

A glass ribbon in the form of a glass roll is provided that is optimized with respect to the requirements of a long service life and at the same time compact dimensions. A bending radius on the inner side of the thin glass roll is determined by performing breakage tests on samples of the glass material, statistical parameters are determined on the basis of the breakage tests, and the statistical parameters are converted into a range of bending radii which meet the requirements on service life and the most compact dimensions possible of the thin glass roll.
