A reel body is the reel body in which an adhesive film having an adhesive layer on a base material layer is wound around a winding core. The adhesive film does not have a protective layer on the adhesive layer and is wound around the winding core in a state in which the adhesive layer and the base material layer are contiguous to each other in the radial direction of the winding core. A width of the winding core in an axial direction is smaller than a width of the adhesive film. In a rolled body of the adhesive film, an overhang portion jutting out in the axial direction of the winding core is provided.

An apparatus and method for assembling, dispensing and using a laminated paper web transfer tape, an embodiment of the apparatus having a pair of transfer tape spools enclosed within a cartridge dispenser, one transfer tape spool containing a first tape component of the laminated transfer tape and the other transfer tape spool containing a second tape component of the laminated transfer tape, the first tape component being the combination of a substrate having adhesive on both sides and a release liner, the second tape component being a cover flap member having a release coating over at least a majority of one side. The components are unwound from the spools and pressed together such that they become joined along a longitudinal edge strip, then dispensed from the housing. The cover flap member covers one of the adhesive sides of the transfer tape substrate until the moment just prior to transfer of a continuous paper web from a full web spool to an empty web spool, the cover flap member being opened to expose the adhesive by air pressure or resistance. The cartridge dispenser is removed retained within a dispenser frame.

An opening radial dimension is set as a radial direction permissible dimension K of the metal coil as expressed by the following equation or lower. K = Yp Z 2 EI R 2 ( - sin cos ) Wherein: K is a radial direction permissible dimension at the load action point position in mm; Yp is a yield stress of the metal sheet, in kgf/mm.sup.2; Z is a section modulus of the metal sheet, in mm.sup.3; R=(a metal coil radius r)(the plate thickness t of the metal sheet), in mm; E is a Young's modulus of the metal sheet, in kgf/mm.sup.2; I is a second moment of area of the metal sheet in mm.sup.4; and is an angle in radians about the axis of the metal coil from the load action point to the nearest restraining roll along a rewind direction of the metal coil.

Methods and Apparatuses for producing a newspaper comprising aligning preprinted images to the operations of a press and modifying the cutoff length of the preprinted images
20180297354 · 2018-10-18 ·

Systems and methods for aligning preprinted images on a roll of substrate to the moving components of a web press are disclosed. A method in accordance with one embodiment includes determining the speed of the moving components of the press, determining the speed of the web of preprinted images and adjusting the speed of the web of preprinted image to match the speed of the web. In particular embodiments, a press which produces rolls of preprinted material can be modified to change the equivalent cutoff length of the press. In further embodiments, a method of pasting new rolls of material to expiring rolls of material is accomplished by modulating the drive speed of the new roll of material to match the expiring roll of material while at the same time aligning the images on the new roll with the expiring roll.
