AUTOMATIC TAPE PROCESSING DEVICE AND REEL LOADING DEVICE
An automatic tape processing device includes a feeding device in which a cover tape is adhered to an upper surface side of a base tape in which cavities configured to accommodate a component are provided at a constant pitch, the feeding device being configured to convey a carrier tape to be loaded into a tape feeder, a cutting device configured to cut each of the base tape and the cover tape at a cutting portion, and a control device configured to determine the cutting portion of each of the base tape and the cover tape according to a type of the tape feeder and control operations of the feeding device and the cutting device so that the base tape and the cover tape are cut at the determined cutting portion.
METHOD FOR SPLICING TWO FLEXIBLE ARTICLES, AND SPLICING MODULE FOR IMPLEMENTING THE METHOD
The invention relates to a method for automatically splicing a first article, unwound from a first reel, to a second article wound around a second reel, the articles being flexible and in the form of webs or strips. According to the invention, the method comprises steps consisting in: positioning an adhesive tape on an end that is to be spliced belonging to the second article; automatically moving a portion of the first article to a cutting plane situated facing the end that is to be spliced belonging to the second article; holding the portion of the first article downstream of the cutting plane with respect to the first reel; cutting the first article transversely; automatically moving the end that is to be spliced belonging to the second article as far as the cutting plane; and pressing a cut end of the first article at the cutting plane against the end that is to be spliced belonging to the second article in order to stick them together using the adhesive tape.
ADHESIVE TAPE AND ITS USE
Adhesive tape for flying splices of flat web materials, in particular flat web materials with nonpolar surfaces, said adhesive tape at least comprising an upper self-adhesive compound layer, an inner adhesive tape area adapted as a flat predetermined breaking point, and a lower self-adhesive compound on the underside of the inner adhesive tape area, wherein a natural rubber adhesive compound is used as the self-adhesive compound for at least the upper self-adhesive compound layer, as well as methods for flying splices of flat web material wound onto rolls, in particular with nonpolar surfaces, using a corresponding adhesive tape.
SHEET DELIVERY SYSTEM AND SHEET DELIVERY METHOD USING SAME
A sheet delivery system includes: a joining unit which joins, to an intermediate section of a sheet being delivered from a delivery-side original material roll, an end section of a sheet W of a standby-side original material roll; and an operation robot which retrieves the end section of the sheet from the standby-side original material roll and which conveys the end section of the sheet to the joining unit. The sheet delivery system sets, in advance, a sheet retrieval position at which the sheet is retrieved from each of the original material rolls, for each of the original material rolls. The operation robot is configured to convey the end section of the sheet from each of the sheet retrieval positions to the joining unit.
SHEET DELIVERY SYSTEM AND SHEET DELIVERY METHOD USING SAME
A sheet delivery system includes: an end section detector which detects a position of an end section of a sheet; an operation robot which holds the end section of the sheet and which conveys the end section of the sheet to a joining unit; a roll driving motor which rotationally drives the standby-side original material roll around a central axis thereof; and a suction roller which is capable of coming into rolling contact with an outer peripheral surface of the standby-side original material roll, and which includes an outer peripheral surface capable of suctioning the end section of the sheet in order to separate the end section of the sheet from the standby-side original material roll. The end section detector is attached at a position which enables detection of the end section of the sheet separated from the standby-side original material roll by the suction roller.

Automatic sleeving splicer
A system and method for automatic splicing of rolls of sleeve material used in various packaging markets is provided. The system will automatically splice the prepared end of a new roll onto the expiring end of the prior roll. The system performs an automatic cut and splice operation resulting in a butt splice of the two rolls with tape applied to both sides of the splice joint. The splice can be done in-registration to provide a consistent product repeat length between expiring and new rolls.
Article selection and placement assembly and method
An apparatus is disclosed for applying tags with attached elastic anchor bands onto the tops of objects such as bottles in a high speed packaging application. The apparatus includes an infeed assembly for feeding a web, a conveyor assembly that receives a web and conveys it along a path in an upstream direction, a rotating selector wheel, a placement assembly, a pair of rotating jaw assembles, a vacuum cup of the selector wheel, and stretched elastic bands over the tops of respective bottles being conveyed along a path below the placing assembly. The elastic bands then snap onto the tops of their respective bottles to secure the tags to the bottles.

DISPOSABLE PRODUCT ASSEMBLY SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A machine for producing disposable products anticipates when a current run of a product size is coming to an end, and therefore begins loading of material rolls intended for the next product size or code that will be run. An integrated production facility layout automatically orders and stocks raw material based on production plans, and commands a production machine to produce specific products of differing configurations, and automatically loads appropriately sized raw materials into the process.
