A device for treatment of a strand-like textile fabric in the form of an endless fabric strand, includes: a lockable treatment container; a transport nozzle arrangement which can be subjected to a first transport medium flow; and a transport section adjoining the transport nozzle arrangement. The transport section terminates on a fabric strand inlet side in a storage section of the lockable treatment container, and the storage section accommodates a folded fabric strand pile. The transport nozzle arrangement includes a transport nozzle with a polygonal nozzle inlet opening and an outlet part having a polygonal cross-section, for the fabric strand. The outlet part is appropriately adapted in view of its dimensions. The nozzle gap is adjustable and is delimited all the way around on at least one side by a plurality of straight nozzle elements that each have a cross-sectional shape that is essentially part-cylindrical.

Air skive with vapor injection

A web transport system for transporting a web of media along a web transport path in an in-track direction, including a liquid application system for applying a liquid to at least one surface of the web of media. An air skive is positioned along the web transport path downstream of the liquid application system, wherein the air skive directs one or more streams of air onto the web of media thereby removing at least some of the liquid that is being carried along with the web of media. A vapor source adds a vapor into the one or more streams of air provided by the air skive before the one or more streams of air are directed onto the web of media.

A non-contact web guide includes a wall having a curved exterior surface and a hollow interior containing a pressurized liquid. A first row of liquid ejection holes is provided in proximity to the web guide entry position, second and third rows of liquid ejection holes is provided in proximity to the web guide exit position, and an intermediate array of liquid ejection holes is provided between the first and second rows. A total number of liquid ejection holes in the intermediate array is less than a total number of liquid ejection holes in the second row. This configuration of ejection boles provides the advantage that stable web guidance is achieved at low liquid flow rates.

A non-contact web guide includes a wall having a curved exterior surface and a hollow interior containing a pressurized liquid. A first row of liquid ejection holes is provided in proximity to the web guide entry position having axes that are inclined toward a downstream direction, and a second row of liquid ejection holes is provided in proximity to the web guide exit position having axes that are inclined toward an upstream direction. An intermediate array of liquid ejection holes is optionally provided. The pressurized liquid flows through the liquid ejection holes to force the web of media away from the bearing surface of the web guide. This configuration of liquid ejection holes provides the advantage that stable web guidance is achieved at low liquid flow rates.

Apparatus and Method for Constructing Building Boards Using Low Friction Surfaces

Discloses is an apparatus and method for utilizing air along a building board forming line for the purpose of reducing friction between the board and the underlying forming tables. The device employs a series of air nozzles that are formed within the face of the forming tables. An air source delivers pressurized air to the nozzles. As completed or partially completed boards travel along the forming tables, an air cushion is created to reduce the friction between the board and the underlying table. The pressurized air can also be used to transport the boards and promote the even distribution of slurry during formation. The various components of the present invention, and the manner in which they interrelate, are described in greater detail hereinafter.

FLUID-DRIVEN APPARATUS FOR FEEDING A FABRIC IN A PROCESS TUMBLER
20180044833 · 2018-02-15 · ·

A fluid-driven apparatus continuously feeds fabric in open-width form. The apparatus is associated in combination with a tumbler processing the fabric. The apparatus includes a tubular duct, with a substantially rectangular transversal cross section, has boundary walls which delimit an internal cavity inside the duct. A manifold supplies gaseous fluid into the duct through an opening formed in the top or bottom wall of the duct. Ports for the fluid extend in a direction longitudinal to the duct, into and out of the cavity. The manifold abuts the opening to divide the duct into two distinct stretches delimited by the manifold and by the ports. The manifold includes a diverter for selectively directing the fluid towards one of the stretches of the duct. A portion of one of the duct stretches is divergent in shape, with a transversal cross section increasing from the manifold to the respective end port.
