A paper conveying device, used in a paper processing device to perform predetermined processing on paper, includes a conveying portion, a holding portion, a detection portion, and a control portion. The conveying portion conveys, in a conveying direction, the paper to a processing portion of the paper processing device. The holding portion is disposed downstream of the processing portion in the conveying direction and holds the paper processed by the paper processing device. The detection portion detects a change of an orientation of the paper held by the holding portion. The control portion releases the paper held by the holding portion in a case where an amount of the detected orientation change reaches a predetermined amount.

Medium transport unit, recording apparatus, and image reading apparatus

A medium transport unit includes an upstream route in which a print sheet is transported, a first switchback route, a second switchback route, a first guide route, a second guide route, a guide flap configured to switch the route so that the print sheet in the upstream route is transported either toward the first guide route or toward the second guide route, a first discharge route from which the print sheet in the first switchback route is discharged, a second discharge route from which the print sheet in the second switchback route is discharged, and a downstream route passing between the first switchback route and the second switchback route and having an upstream end connected to a junction of downstream ends of the first discharge route and the second discharge route.

TRANSPORT DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

A transport device includes: a rotating member that rotates; a circulating member that is loop-shaped and wrapped around the rotating member, the circulating member being circulated by rotation of the rotating member; and a pair of pinching members attached to an attachment portion of the circulating member and circulated together with the circulating member, the pair of pinching members changing from a separated state, in which the pair of pinching members are separated from each other, to a closely positioned state to pinch a transport object that has entered a space between the pair of pinching members in the separated state. The attachment portion of the circulating member is in contact with the rotating member when the transport object starts to enter the space between the pair of pinching members in the separated state.

A sheet processing apparatus comprising: a conveying unit configured to have a roller that conveys a sheet in a conveyance direction; a first detecting device disposed downstream of the conveying unit in the conveyance direction; a second detecting device disposed downstream of the first detecting device in the conveyance direction; a boring unit configured to have a punch that performs boring in the sheet; and a control unit is used. The first detecting device and the second detecting device each detect passage of a leading edge of the sheet being conveyed. The control unit calculates an actual conveyance speed of the sheet on the basis of detection results of the first detecting device and the second detecting device, and controls rotation of the roller, on the basis of the actual conveyance speed, so that the sheet is conveyed at a predetermined target speed.

Liquid ejection apparatus, winding control method, and computer readable recording medium

A liquid ejection apparatus includes a conveying unit, a winding unit, a printing unit, and a rotation control unit. The conveying unit is configured to intermittently convey a printing medium by a predetermined feed amount. The winding unit is configured to wind the printing medium conveyed by the conveying unit. The printing unit is configured to perform printing on the conveyed printing medium. The rotation control unit is configured to control the winding unit to rotate in a winding direction at a predetermined timing after the conveying unit has started to convey the printing medium intermittently, and then cause the winding unit to rotate in a reverse direction opposite to the winding direction.

SHEET PROCESSING DEVICE

A rotation device rotates a sheet on an upstream side of, in a sheet conveyance orientation, a working device positioned in a middle of a conveyance path, thereby changing an orientation of the sheet. An information acquiring portion acquires sheet size information and sheet orientation information representing a size and the orientation of the sheet in a sheet storing portion, and working position information representing a working position on the sheet. A rotation control portion controls the rotation device in accordance with the sheet orientation information and the working position information. The working control portion controls the working device in accordance with the orientation of the sheet after passing through the rotation device, and the sheet size information and the working position information.

Layboy having at least one diverted belt section

A layboy includes an upper belt section with a plurality of transversely spaced upper belts that extend in a longitudinal direction such that bottom portions of the upper belts lie in a first plane that defines an upper boundary of a transport path through the layboy and a lower belt section having a plurality of transversely spaced lower belts that extend in the longitudinal direction such that top portions of the lower belts lie in a second plane that defines an upper boundary of the transport path. The bottom portion of one of the top belts and/or the top portion of one of the bottom belts extends away from the transport path to define a gap in the transport path at which scrap moving through the layboy can fall out of the transport path.
