SHEET ALIGNING DEVICE, SHEET PROCESSING DEVICE, IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS
A sheet aligning device includes a support member, a regulation member, a regulation member moving mechanism, and an alignment member. The support member supports leading ends of sheets. The regulation member is connected to the support member and is provided to face an inclined tray in such a way as to define a sheet entry space in which the leading ends of the sheets enter. The regulation member moving mechanism is configured to, each time a sheet is conveyed onto the inclined tray, move the regulation member in a separating direction to widen the sheet entry space, and then in an approaching direction to narrow the sheet entry space. The alignment member aligns the sheets by abutting on rear ends of the sheets.
Installation for sorting articles with a sorting conveyor having pivotally mounted flaps
A sorting conveyor has pivotally mounted flaps for sorting articles into sorting outlets as a function of a sorting indication affixed to each of the articles. The conveyor includes a monitoring and control unit designed to cause each flap to pivot between a closed position in which the flap forms a conveyor portion suitable for conveying an article in a certain conveying direction and an open position in which the flap interrupts conveying of an article on the conveyor to deflect it towards an appropriate sorting outlet. The monitoring and control unit is also arranged to retrieve thickness data from a memory giving a certain thickness for the article to be deflected, and to respond by causing the flap to pivot into an open position through a certain opening amplitude determined as a function of the thickness data about the article that is to be deflected.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR POSITIONING PRINTED PRODUCTS IN OPERATIVE CONNECTION WITH A DELIVERY SYSTEM
A system, preferably a saddle stitcher, includes: a transport chain, which is roof-shaped in an upper region, along which one or more printed products is astride transportable, collected, and are optionally stapled in an intermediate stapling station; and a stop adjustable according to a format of a printed product of the printed products, the stop being arranged in a transport direction of the printed product, behind the stapling station, and along a further course of the transport chain. The stop is in operative connection with a delivery system and an ejector that operate interdependently with each other to perform a format-stabilized discharge of the printed product in accordance with a cycle; and that the format-stabilized printed product is fed to a cutting apparatus.

CONVEYANCE DEVICE, DRYING DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND LIQUID DISCHARGE APPARATUS
A conveyance device includes a conveyance member, a guide, and a rotator. The conveyance member has a conveyance surface with a joint, the conveyance member to convey an object to be conveyed, with the object on the conveyance surface. The guide approaches the conveyance surface and guides the object from or to the conveyance member. The rotator contacts the conveyance surface. The guide displaces in a direction perpendicular to the conveyance surface, in conjunction with displacement of the rotator when the rotator contacts the joint.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CUTTING AND TAPING A SUBSTRATE AND A PRODUCT MADE BY THE METHOD
In one embodiment, a method for cutting and taping a substrate includes providing a substrate having a first side, a second side opposite the first side, and a perimeter. A first flexible joint is created in the substrate by making a first cut through the first side to the second side making first and second sections. A first length of tape is located along at least a portion the first cut to secure the sections together. A second flexible joint is created in the substrate by making a second cut through the first side to the second side. A second length of tape may connect the additional sections created by the second cut.

CONVEYING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONVEYING A TIRE LAYER
Disclosed is a conveying apparatus and method for conveying a tire layer, wherein the conveying apparatus includes a swivel conveyor with at least one endless belt or wire, a first pulley, a second pulley and a third pulley that define a minimal loop (L) for guiding the endless belt or wire along a conveying run and a return run, wherein the third pulley is arranged between the conveying run and the return run, and is swivable about a swivel axis (X) between a first swivel position and a second swivel position. The pivot position is chosen such that the length of the minimal loop when the third pulley is in the first swivel position is the same within a tolerance of less than 1 percent with respect to the length of the minimal loop when the third pulley is in the second swivel position.
