A sheet conveyance apparatus includes a switching member, a conveyance portion configured to convey the sheet, a driving motor configured to drive the conveyance portion, a transmission unit configured to cause the switching member to execute a pivot operation, and a control portion configured to control the driving motor and the transmission unit, wherein, in a case where the control portion conveys a first sheet in a job at a first conveyance speed by the conveyance portion and causes the switching member to execute the pivot operation, the control portion causes the switching member to execute the pivot operation at a second operating speed before the first sheet arrives at the switching member and the conveyance portion, and rotates the driving motor at a first rotational speed after the pivot operation has been executed and before the first sheet arrives at the conveyance portion.

To provide a sheet stacking apparatus and image forming system capable of improving alignment characteristics also in the case where an aligning section is not able to act on a sheet discharged onto a stacking tray, the sheet stacking apparatus and image forming system include a stacking tray stacking discharged sheets, a pair of aligning sections capable of shifting in a width direction to align the width direction crossing a direction in which the sheet to stack on the stacking tray is discharged, and a control section that controls a relative position of the aligning sections and the sheet to discharge so that one of the pair of the aligning sections regulates a shift of the sheet stacked on the stacking tray to one direction side in the width direction, when a sheet with a predetermined width in the width direction of the sheet is discharged to the stacking tray.

In one example, a printing device is described. The printing device may include a transport roller to move a print medium through the printing device, a sensor to detect a trailing edge of the print medium, a processor, and a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions. In one example, the instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to move the print medium toward an output of the printing device via the transport roller after a printing to the print medium, detect the trailing edge of the print medium via the sensor during a movement of the print medium via the transport roller, and hold the print medium in a position in contact with the transport roller, in response to a detection of the trailing edge of the print medium via the sensor.
