Systems, devices and methods for receiving an item

Systems, devices and methods for receiving an item in a receptacle are disclosed. Features are disclosed for receiving and guiding an item in a receiving space of a receptacle so as to attenuate or remove the impact force of the item on the receptacle. Some embodiments of the disclosure include a bumper having an impact surface which absorbs most or all of the impact force of the item and thereby mitigates or removes the imposition of cyclic impact loads on the receptacle from repeated receipt of items. The bumper may be structurally and/or functionally de-coupled or otherwise physically separated from the receptacle such that an advantageous division of labor is created between absorbing the impact and receiving the item. This disclosure may be useful, for example, in modern industrial operations where a high volume of items are received daily, such as in mail sorting and handling operations.

A sheet compound (1) is disclosed, comprising a first group of conglomerates (3) of fiber segments (5) and a matrix (6) of polymeric material, the conglomerates (3) of the first group having a random orientation, and at least one second group of conglomerates (4) of fiber segments (5) and a matrix (6) of polymeric material, the conglomerates (4) of the second group having a prevailing orientation of a direction of maximum tensile strength (FR) thereof along a respective predetermined direction (FB) in said geometric plane (P), said at least one second group of conglomerates (4) being distinguishable from the first group of conglomerates (3) by at least one characteristic other than orientation. A process and an installation for making such a material, as well as a molded object made from such a material are also disclosed.

Sheet processing apparatus

A sheet processing apparatus according to an embodiment includes a first tray that holds a sheet transported to the sheet processing apparatus in a sheet transport direction. A second tray is provided below the first tray and holds the sheet moved from the first tray. A first member, when the sheet is moved from the first tray to the second tray, rotates about a turning shaft, and presses a first portion of the sheet toward the second tray by making a pressing portion of the first member contact with the first portion. A second member, when the sheet is moved from the first tray to the second tray, protrudes toward the second tray at a position between the turning shaft and the pressing portion of the first member, and presses a second portion of the sheet toward the second tray, the second portion being located downstream of the first portion.

FINISHER OUTPUT BIN ASSEMBLY

A system for presenting media sheets incudes a finisher output bin assembly. The finisher output bin assembly includes a translatable output floor, and a guide substrate coupled to the translatable output floor to guide the translatable output floor relative to the guide substrate in at least one coordinate direction. The finisher output bin assembly includes an output structure mechanically coupled to the translatable output floor to drive the translatable output floor relative to the guide substrate.

Outfeed table

A system that converts fanfold material into packaging templates includes a converting machine and an outfeed table. The converting machine has a converting assembly that performs conversion functions, such as cutting, creasing, and scoring, on fanfold material as the fanfold material moves through the converting machine. The outfeed table guides the packaging templates out of the converting machine in a first direction. The outfeed table then directs the packaging templates to a user side of the outfeed table so that a user may readily retrieve the packaging templates from the user side of the outfeed table.
