09642683 · 2017-05-09 · ·

Provided is prophylaxis cup for dentistry, comprising a first section storing a first medium, a second section storing a second medium, and one or more channels between the first section and the second section, wherein the first section, the second section and the one or more channels are adapted to allow the first medium and the second medium to be mixed, in response to a rotational movement of the prophylaxis cup. Provided also is a method for using prophylaxis cup in which the prophylaxis cup is positioned on a patient's tooth. A control is triggered to rotate the prophylaxis cup to cause a first medium stored in a first section of the prophylaxis cup to be mixed with a second medium stored in a second section of the prophylaxis cup. Provided further is a prophylaxis angle for dentistry, comprising a hand-piece, with the prophylaxis cup coupled to the hand-piece.

Pre-charged prophy angle
09603688 · 2017-03-28 ·

A pre-charged prophy angle having a (a) housing that includes a paste chamber, a rotatable head, a drive shaft, and a tube defining in part the paste chamber, the housing and paste chamber configured such that paste within the paste chamber can be dispensed without contacting the drive shaft; (b) a cup secured to the rotatable head, and (c) a paste dispensing assembly having a plunger movably secured to a push rod configured to reciprocally move linearly within the housing, the plunger including a clip for gripping the push rod such that linear movement of the push rod in a first direction causes the plunger to move in the first direction, while the clip precludes movement of the plunger in a second direction when the push rod in directed in the second direction.

APPARATUS FOR TOOTH STAIN REMOVAL

An apparatus for tooth stain removal is presented. The invention comprises a powered device with a chisel tip at its distal end, a body at its proximal end and an electric motor housed within the body for driving the chisel tip. The chisel tip has a proximal end removably coupled to the body and an exposed distal end along a generally longitudinal axis. The chisel tip comprises a pointed end on a first side for cleaning area between teeth and a broad cleaning surface on a second side for cleaning the main surface of each tooth. The chisel tip operates in a reciprocating motion driven by the electric motor. The reciprocating motion repeatedly moves the chisel tip in a back and forth direction by a finite displacement along the chisel tip's longitudinal axis.

Oral care device with sacrificial electrode

A container, a toothbrush, or a device including at least one sacrificial electrode. In one aspect, the container may include a body adapted to contain an oral care solution and a cap selectively removable from the body. The cap may include a cavity configured to contain a fluid, a first electrode comprising a sacrificial metal, a second electrode spaced from the first electrode, and an electrical connection electrically connecting the first electrode and the second electrode to a power source. Activation of the power source may generate an electric field between the first and second electrodes, thereby causing the sacrificial metal of the first electrode to release ions into the fluid in the cavity of the cap.
