A sensor, arranged in a region of the conveyor, is operatively connected to the machine control and functions to detect the printed sheets, transported with the conveyor.

Printing apparatus and control method

A printing apparatus comprises a conveyance unit configured to convey a sheet to a printing unit configured to perform printing; a control unit configured to cause the conveyance unit to hold the sheet onto which printing was performed by the printing unit; and a receiving unit configured to receive an ejection instruction for instructing to eject the sheet. The control unit, in a case where the receiving unit receives the ejection instruction, controls the conveyance unit to eject the sheet to outside of the apparatus after a predetermined time has elapsed.

Stacking device for stacking value documents

A stacking apparatus for value documents, having a stack deposit device and a braking device which is arranged along the transport path of the value documents immediately before the stack deposit device. On the transport shaft of the braking device at least one driving roller is firmly mounted and at least one roller rotatably supported on the transport shaft. At least one cam roller is firmly mounted on a braking shaft of the braking device and at least one eccentric roller. By a rotation of the braking shaft, the eccentric roller can electively be brought in engagement with the opposing driving roller so that a value document becomes clamped between these, or be brought out of engagement with the opposing driving roller, so that the value document is no longer clamped between these, but rather is brakable by the engagement between the cam roller and the rotatably supported roller.

IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND CONVEYANCE CONTROL METHOD

An image forming apparatus includes: a transfer section that transfers an image onto a sheet; a sheet conveying member that conveys the sheet, the sheet conveying member being provided upstream of the transfer section in a sheet conveyance direction; and a hardware processor that controls displacement of the sheet conveying member so that the sheet is displaced along a width direction of the sheet. The hardware processor sets a displacement speed of the sheet conveying member for the sheet during transfer of the image by the transfer section to be lower than the displacement speed of the sheet conveying member for the sheet before the transfer of the image by the transfer section.

Image forming apparatus

The present invention provides an image forming apparatus that reduces image artifacts caused by the back tension of a separating unit. A control unit decreases the number of rotations (the rotational speed) of a resist roller pair after the leading edge of a sheet reaches a transfer position.

Delivery systems and methods for setting the delivery systems

A delivery system is used for delivering printed sheets which can be fed in a region of an inlet side of a delivery device. The delivery device includes at least one first discharge station and one second discharge station which is mounted downstream of the first discharge station, which is upstream in the transport path. The delivery stations are associated respectively with a format or transport-relevant device which can be controlled by a drive including a control element for adapting or correcting the guiding and delivery of the sheets in the relevant discharge station. At a delivery device level upstream of a lateral inlet in a stacking space of the upstream second discharge station, at least one operator interface, with at least one actuating device is provided. The at least one actuating device can be permanently connected to a signal or can be activated by an additional actuating device, with the control element of the at least one format- or transport-relevant device of the first discharge station and which allows or which can allow, during actuation, the control element of the system of the first discharge station which can vary with regard to the format- or transport-relevant size format, to be controlled.

Methods for operating a delivery device and delivery device for a sheet processing machine

During the operation of a delivery device, having a first and a second stack delivery, in a transport direction, in which a first braking device is provided in the transport path of sheets which are conveyed by a conveyor system along a transport path in the entry region of the first stack delivery, and in which a second braking device is provided in the input area of the second stack delivery, the sheets to be printed, which come into the first braking device come in a form- or friction-locking operative contact with an active surface of a holding means comprised by the braking device. The active surface coming into this operative contact with the sheet to be printed is moved forcibly by a drive in the transport direction. In a first operating mode, during a form- or friction-fit interaction between the sheet and the active surface, a speed for the movement of the active surface is reduced from a first speed to a comparatively lower stacking speed. The first braking device is operated in a second operating mode for a subsequently incoming sheet that is to be deposited on a stack of the second stack delivery. The active surface is moved, for at least the entire duration of the existing form- or friction-fit operating contact, with a speed between the respect sheet and the active surface. That speed corresponds approximately, i.e. with a deviation of 10%, to the conveying speed of the conveyor system.

FEEDER FOR FEEDING DOCUMENT TO DOCUMENT IMAGING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FEEDING DOCUMENTS

A method and apparatus for processing documents are provided. The apparatus includes a feeder for receiving a packet of a plurality of documents and separating the documents to serially feed the documents to a scanner. A retard adjacent the feeder is operable in first and second positions. In the first position the retard forms a nip with the feeder so that the retard is operable to impede the progress of one or more documents in the packet while the feeder feeds one of the documents in the packet. In the second position, the retard is spaced apart from the feeder to form a gap between the feeder and the retard. The system further includes a sensor for detecting a characteristic of the documents in a packet indicative of whether the number of documents in the packet exceeds a predetermined threshold. A drive mechanism automatically drives the retard pad between the first and second positions in response to the detected characteristic
