A medium discharging apparatus includes a first tray in which a medium is received and placed, a second tray in which a medium discharged from the first tray is received, a discharging mechanism that discharges the medium from the first tray toward the second tray, and a first curl suppressing member that is located above a rear end region of the medium in the discharge direction and that moves so as to follow movement of the rear end region while maintaining an attitude of the medium until the medium placed on the first tray is discharged from the first tray to the second tray by the discharging mechanism and placed on the second tray.

A sheet stacking device includes: a pair of sheet discharge rollers having a drive roller; a stacking tray for stacking sheets; a blade member; and a controller. The controller executes: stop processing in which the blade member is stopped at a stop position during discharging of the sheet; and rotation processing in which the blade member is rotated by one turn before a rear end of the sheet passes through the pair of sheet discharge rollers and the sheet is placed on the stacking tray. The blade is configured, in the rotation processing, to make the sheet fall on the stacking tray by beating a rear end portion of the sheet from above, and to be brought into contact with the rear end portion of the sheet which falls on the stacking tray from above while pulling the sheet toward an upstream side in the sheet discharge direction.

A sheet stacking device includes: a pair of sheet discharge rollers having a drive roller; a stacking tray for stacking sheets; a blade member; and a controller. The controller executes: stop processing in which the blade member is stopped at a stop position during discharging of the sheet; and rotation processing in which the blade member is rotated by one turn before a rear end of the sheet passes through the pair of sheet discharge rollers and the sheet is placed on the stacking tray. The blade is configured, in the rotation processing, to make the sheet fall on the stacking tray by beating a rear end portion of the sheet from above, and to be brought into contact with the rear end portion of the sheet which falls on the stacking tray from above while pulling the sheet toward an upstream side in the sheet discharge direction.

A sheet conveying device includes a discharging roller pair, a discharge sheet holding portion, and a stopper member. The discharging roller pair discharges the sheet member outside from a sheet discharge port by rotating in a forward rotational direction. The discharging roller pair includes a first conveying roller, and a roller member. The discharge sheet holding portion is for holding the sheet member discharged outside by the discharging roller pair. The stopper member is swingably supported on a rotational shaft of the first conveying roller. The stopper member allows the sheet member to be discharged to the discharge sheet holding portion when the discharging roller pair rotates in the forward rotational direction, and prevents the sheet member from intruding into the nip portion from the discharge sheet holding portion when the discharging roller pair rotates in the reverse rotational direction.

A sheet conveying device includes a discharging roller pair, a discharge sheet holding portion, and a stopper member. The discharging roller pair discharges the sheet member outside from a sheet discharge port by rotating in a forward rotational direction. The discharging roller pair includes a first conveying roller, and a roller member. The discharge sheet holding portion is for holding the sheet member discharged outside by the discharging roller pair. The stopper member is swingably supported on a rotational shaft of the first conveying roller. The stopper member allows the sheet member to be discharged to the discharge sheet holding portion when the discharging roller pair rotates in the forward rotational direction, and prevents the sheet member from intruding into the nip portion from the discharge sheet holding portion when the discharging roller pair rotates in the reverse rotational direction.

An image recording apparatus includes: a recording unit configured to record an image on a sheet conveyed in a conveyance direction; conveyance rollers arranged downstream of the recording unit in the conveyance direction to be apart from each other in a width direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction; first spur rollers arranged opposingly to the conveyance rollers respectively and configured to nip the sheet between the conveyance rollers and the first spur rollers; second spur rollers arranged between the mutually adjoining first spur rollers respectively in the width direction; and a first guide member arranged upstream of the first spur rollers and the second spur rollers in the conveyance direction; and having a first guide surface configured to guide the sheet to a nip position at which the sheet is nipped by the conveyance rollers and the first spur rollers.

An image recording apparatus includes: a recording unit configured to record an image on a sheet conveyed in a conveyance direction; conveyance rollers arranged downstream of the recording unit in the conveyance direction to be apart from each other in a width direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction; first spur rollers arranged opposingly to the conveyance rollers respectively and configured to nip the sheet between the conveyance rollers and the first spur rollers; second spur rollers arranged between the mutually adjoining first spur rollers respectively in the width direction; and a first guide member arranged upstream of the first spur rollers and the second spur rollers in the conveyance direction; and having a first guide surface configured to guide the sheet to a nip position at which the sheet is nipped by the conveyance rollers and the first spur rollers.

A scanner includes a reading section configured to read a medium being transported, a discharge roller pair configured to nip the medium read in the reading section by a first roller and a second roller and discharge the medium, and a rib disposed in a position overlapping the discharge roller pair in a medium transport direction, the rib protruding from the first roller side toward the second roller side out of the first roller and the second roller, the rib including a first rib disposed on one side in a width direction intersecting the medium transport direction with respect to the discharge roller pair and a second rib disposed on the opposite side of the first rib in the width direction with respect to the discharge roller pair.

An image forming apparatus includes an output unit to which a recording medium on which an image has been formed is output, the output unit including an output unit body, and an extension portion that is disposed on the output unit body so as to be extendable from the output unit body in an output direction of the recording medium, the extension portion including a handle portion that is recessed in a direction away from a back surface of the recording sheet so as allow a finger to be hooked in a direction in which the extension portion is extended in the output direction of the recording medium, the back surface being a surface that is in contact with the output unit body, and a protrusion that protrudes toward the back surface of the recording medium from the extension portion.

An image forming apparatus includes an output unit to which a recording medium on which an image has been formed is output, the output unit including an output unit body, and an extension portion that is disposed on the output unit body so as to be extendable from the output unit body in an output direction of the recording medium, the extension portion including a handle portion that is recessed in a direction away from a back surface of the recording sheet so as allow a finger to be hooked in a direction in which the extension portion is extended in the output direction of the recording medium, the back surface being a surface that is in contact with the output unit body, and a protrusion that protrudes toward the back surface of the recording medium from the extension portion.
