Draw-in device for sheet-type articles
A draw-in apparatus having at least two rotatable draw-in rollers for drawing in sheet goods, in particular bank notes, wherein the draw-in rollers are arranged relative to each other with meshing roller profiles respectively extending transversely to the draw-in direction so as to define a draw-in gap for the sheet goods, and wherein the draw-in rollers have axial cross-sectional profiles mutually matched such that a clearance between the draw-in rollers changes periodically upon a rotation of the draw-in rollers.
FEEDER FOR FEEDING DOCUMENT TO DOCUMENT IMAGING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FEEDING DOCUMENTS
A method and apparatus for processing documents are provided. The apparatus includes a feeder for receiving a packet of a plurality of documents and separating the documents to serially feed the documents to a scanner. A retard adjacent the feeder is operable in first and second positions. In the first position the retard forms a nip with the feeder so that the retard is operable to impede the progress of one or more documents in the packet while the feeder feeds one of the documents in the packet. In the second position, the retard is spaced apart from the feeder to form a gap between the feeder and the retard. The system further includes a sensor for detecting a characteristic of the documents in a packet indicative of whether the number of documents in the packet exceeds a predetermined threshold. A drive mechanism automatically drives the retard pad between the first and second positions in response to the detected characteristic

SHEET MEDIUM FLATTENING DEVICE AND FINANCIAL SELF-SERVICE DEVICE
A sheet medium flattening device includes a mounting frame configured to mount and support following components; an annular passage, including an annular inner passage plate and an annular outer passage plate, a heating module arranged in a hollow inner cavity of the inner passage plate to supply heat for the inner passage plate; at least one pinch roller arranged at an outer side of the annular guiding plate and realizing clamping with the inner passage plate through a hole slot arranged in the annular guiding plate; a reversing mechanism configured to selectively convey banknotes between the conveying passage and the annular passage of the flattening device; a driving device configured to drive the inner passage plate to rotate; and a control system configured to control a temperature of the heating module and control a selectively switchover of the reversing mechanism.
Transfer apparatus
To provide a transfer apparatus correcting a curl of a card efficiently while preventing the card from deteriorating, a printing apparatus includes a transfer section transferring a transfer surface of a transfer film to the card, a rotating unit reversing the front side and back side of the card in two-sided transfer, a decurl mechanism correcting a curl of the card with the transfer surface transferred in the transfer section, and a control section controlling the decurl mechanism. The control section controls the decurl mechanism such that a correction amount for the card with the transfer surface transferred to one surface in two-sided transfer is smaller than a correction amount for the card in one-sided transfer, and that the total sum of correction amounts for respective surfaces of the card in two-sided transfer is smaller than the correction amount for the card in one-sided transfer.

Sheet-conveying device that conveys sheets, image-forming apparatus using the sheet-conveying device and image-forming system that uses the sheet-conveying device
A sheet-conveying device contains a first linear sheet-conveying path on which the sheet is conveyed, a curved sheet-conveying path connecting the first linear sheet-conveying path and a second linear sheet-conveying path connecting the curved sheet-conveying path. A curved conveying guide is provided at only an outside of a curved sheet-conveying route. Conveying guide rollers are provided at an upstream side of the curved conveying guide. The conveying guide rollers contain a driving roller which is arranged at outside of the curved sheet-conveying path and a driven roller which is arranged at inside of the curved sheet-conveying path. The driven roller has a diameter more than that of the driving roller. The driven roller also has hardness less than that of the driving roller.
