Medium protection device and medium separating and stacking device
The present invention provides a medium protection device and a medium separating and stacking device capable of avoiding damage to a medium when moving the medium along a guide. In a banknote cassette, a guide body is attached to a circumferential side face of a central body of a tongue piece roller in a range not provided with tongue pieces. When feeding out banknotes, the banknote cassette stops the tongue piece roller in a retracted state, thereby positioning an outer circumferential face of the guide body in the vicinity of the surface of a front upper curved portion of a hole in the conveyance guide, such that the hole can be placed in an almost completely blocked state. The present invention can accordingly prevent the vicinity of a corner of a banknote from entering the hole, enabling creasing during conveyance to be forestalled.

SHEET FEEDING APPARATUS, IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS WITH SHEET FEEDING APPARATUS
A sheet feeding apparatus includes: a feeding rotating member configured to feed a sheet; a separating portion configured to separate and feed one by one the sheet fed by the feeding rotating member, the separating portion including a separating rotating member configured to feed a sheet and a separating member configured to form a separation nip portion by abutting on the separating rotating member; and a curving portion configured to curve a sheet fed to the separation nip portion by the feeding rotating member in a sheet width direction perpendicular to a sheet feeding direction.
Sheet conveying device
A sheet conveying device including a conveying section configured to convey a sheet in a predetermined conveying direction, a discharge section configured to discharge the sheet onto a stacking surface and configured to support the sheet, which is discharged by the discharge section, from below, a first contact portion provided on the stacking surface at a middle portion of the stacking surface in a width direction orthogonal to the conveying direction; a second contact portion provided on the stacking surface at one side with respect to the first contact portion in the width direction; and a third contact portion provided on the stacking surface at an other side with respect to the first contact portion in the width direction.

MEDIA PROCESSING
Apparatus is described that has a flexion component configured to apply a force to a first portion of media within a media path of a media processing device. The apparatus has a support portion configured to couple the apparatus to the media processing device. The media path provides a path along which the media is transported and has a feed area. The flexion moves a second portion of the media away from the feed area of the media path. A method of applying a force to media is also described.
Image Recording Apparatus
An image recording apparatus includes: a recording section which records an image on a sheet conveyed in a conveyance direction in a conveyance route; a first abutment member having a plurality of first abutment portions arranged apart from each other in a width direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction, and configured to abut against the sheet conveyed in the conveyance route; a first supporting member which supports the first abutment member; and a plurality of second abutment members which are supported by the first supporting member at both sides in the width direction, respectively, of the first abutment member, at a distance from the first abutment member, and each of which has a second abutment portion capable of contacting with the sheet conveyed in the conveyance route.
Sheet discharge apparatus and image forming apparatus
A sheet is discharged from between a discharge roller and a feeding roller as pinched between the rotating discharge roller and feeding roller. In this arrangement, a guide is arranged from an upstream side to a downstream side in a sheet discharge direction. The guide is arranged to contact the discharge roller at a downstream position in the discharge direction from a position where the discharge roller contacts the feeding roller.
