PRINTER FINISHING APPARATUS
Example printer finishing apparatus are described herein. An example printer disclosed herein includes an alignment guide, a track to align a sheet relative to the alignment guide, a clamp to move between a raised position and a lowered position relative to the sheet, and a force applicator coupled to the clamp. The force applicator is to cause the sheet to engage the alignment guide when the clamp is in the lowered position.
SHEET DISCHARGE DEVICE, AND DOCUMENT CONVEYING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS PROVIDED THEREWITH
A sheet discharge device includes: a sheet discharge portion; a sheet stacking portion having a sheet stacking surface for stacking a sheet discharged from the sheet discharge portion; and a stopper in the sheet stacking portion against which, for alignment, the leading end of the sheet discharged from the sheet discharge portion is thrust. The stopper has a support portion, a restricting portion, and an urging mechanism. The restricting portion is supported pivotally on a pivot shaft on the support portion, and is arranged either in a retracted position to lie flat substantially horizontally along the sheet stacking surface or in a restricting position to stand upright substantially vertically to the sheet stacking surface. The urging mechanism urges the restricting portion, when in retracted position, in a direction from restricting position to retracted position and, when in restricting position, in a direction from retracted position to restricting position.

Processing device, control method of processing device, and recording system
A processing device includes a medium supporting portion having a support surface for supporting at least a front end portion of a transported medium, an aligning portion for aligning the medium supported by the medium supporting portion, a stacking portion provided below the medium supporting portion in a vertical direction, having a stacking surface on which the medium dropped from the medium supporting portion is stacked, and configured to move up and down, and a pressing portion having a pressing surface facing the support surface, the pressing surface being configured to move between a first position and a second position closer to the support surface than the first position, in which the pressing portion is disposed at the first position when the medium is transported to the medium supporting portion, and is disposed at the second position after the aligning portion aligns the medium on the medium supporting portion.
Sheet stacking device, sheet post processing device, and image forming system
A sheet stacking device includes a sheet outlet, a lower discharge roller, and a paddle member. The paddle member is disposed coaxially to a rotation shaft of the lower discharge roller, and is driven to rotate independently of the lower discharge roller in the same direction as the lower discharge roller, so as to contact downward an upstream part in a discharging direction of a sheet discharged through the sheet outlet. The paddle member includes a base part in which the rotation shaft is inserted, an arm part protruding in a direction separating from an axis center of the base part, and a paddle elastic part protruding from the arm part. A rotation speed of the paddle member is the same as a rotation speed of a discharge roller pair when the sheet passes through a nip of the discharge roller pair.

SHEET STACKER, POST-PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM
A sheet stacker includes a pair of sheet holders, a sheet leading-edge aligner, a sheet stacking member, and control circuitry. A downstream side of the pair of sheet holders in a conveyance direction of a conveyed sheet is lowered along the conveyance direction. Each one of the pair of sheet holders is movable in an orthogonal direction to the conveyance direction. The pair of sheet holders hold both side-end portions of the sheet in the orthogonal direction. The sheet stacking member is disposed below the pair of sheet holders. A downstream side of the sheet stacking member in the conveyance direction is lowered along the conveyance direction. The sheet stacking member stacks the sheet dropped from the pair of sheet holders after a leading edge of the sheet is aligned by the leading-edge aligner. The control circuitry controls operations of the leading-edge aligner and the pair of sheet holders.
MEDIUM LOADING DEVICE AND POST-PROCESSING DEVICE
A loading unit includes a processing tray, alignment units, and a paddle. In the processing tray, a medium is placed. The alignment units are disposed an interval in a Y direction to align a downstream tip end in a positive A direction of the medium. The paddle moves the medium that has been fed onto the processing tray toward the alignment units. A coefficient of friction of a contact surface of the alignment unit is higher than a coefficient of friction of a front face of the alignment unit, and the contact surface is positioned downstream of the front face in the positive A direction.
SHEET STACKING APPARATUS, SHEET PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM
A sheet stacking apparatus includes a discharge unit, a stacking portion on which discharged sheets are stacked, a lifting unit, and first and second abutting portions. The lifting unit lifts and lowers the stacking portion. The first abutting portion abuts a trailing end of the stacked sheets in a sheet discharge direction. The first abutting portion does not move in an up-down direction. The second abutting portion abuts the stacked sheets trailing end. The first abutting portion supports the second abutting portion such that the second abutting portion is movable in the up-down direction. If the stacking portion is lowered from a first to a second position below the first position, the second abutting portion does not move in accordance with the stacking portion. If the stacking portion is further lowered beyond the second position, the second abutting portion moves in accordance with the stacking portion.
