Media stacking mechanisms
Example implementations relate to media stacking mechanisms. In some examples, a printing device can include a stacking mechanism that includes a tamper to tamp print media positioned within the stacking mechanism, and a controller comprising instructions to: tamp a first sheet of print media received at the stacking mechanism a first distance based on a first size of the first sheet of print media, tamp a second sheet of print media received at the stacking mechanism a second distance based on the second size of the second sheet of print media, wherein the second sheet of print media is positioned over the first sheet of print media, and tamp a third sheet of print media received at the stacking mechanism the second distance when the third sheet of print media is the first size, wherein the third sheet of print media is positioned over the second sheet of print media.

Conveyance device, application device, printer, and sheet conveyance apparatus
A conveyance device includes a tray on an upper surface of the conveyance device and an upper guide below the tray. The tray receives a sheet, and the upper guide defines a conveyance path in which the sheet is conveyed. The upper guide is movable together with the tray to open the conveyance path.

SHEET STACKER AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCORPORATING SAME
A sheet stacker includes a tray to store a stack of sheets, a conveyor above the tray, a leading end guide above the tray, and an air exhaust. The conveyor conveys a sheet in a conveyance direction. The leading end guide is downstream from the conveyor in the conveyance direction. The leading end guide guides the sheet from the conveyor to the tray. The air exhaust exhausts air above an upper surface of the stack of sheets on the tray to an upstream from the tray in the conveyance direction. Further, the leading end guide holds a leading end of the sheet conveyed by the conveyor at a holding position and releases the leading end of the sheet at a release position downstream from the holding position in the conveyance direction.

Medium transporting apparatus, processing apparatus, and recording system
A medium transporting apparatus includes a mounting portion configured to mount a medium, and a pressing portion configured to switch between a first state for pressing the medium against the mounting portion and a second state for releasing the medium. The pressing portion takes the first state in waiting for the medium to the mounting portion, switches to the second state in response to the sent medium and returns to the first state after the medium is sent to the mounting portion. When the last medium is mounted on the mounting portion, a timing at which the pressing portion returns to the first state from the second state is delayed with respect to the timing of the return therebefore.
