The nozzle tip assembly is configured to be attached to a device configured to provide a pressurized fluid and gas therefrom. The nozzle tip assembly comprising an elongated body defining a fluid lumen and at least one gas lumen between a distal end and a proximal end. The elongated body including at least an attachment profile, a straight portion, and an outlet region. The outlet region defines a shear nozzle in communication with the fluid lumen and at least one gas outlet in communication with the at least one gas lumen, the outlet region is configured to direct pressurized gas from the at least one gas outlet and to produce a desired spray pattern from the shear nozzle.
DERMAL INFUSION HANDPIECE WITH IMPROVED DELIVERY HEAD
A dermal treatment handpiece has a body with proximal and distal ends, a jet spray delivery head formed at the distal end of the body and connected to sources of a liquid suspension of a therapeutic agent and of a pressurized gas for a selectable combined supply thereof to the jet spray delivery head. The jet spray delivery head has a base formed at the distal end of the body, a localized environmental jet spray isolation chamber extending from the base to a distal exit port, a nozzle extending into the isolation chamber from the base, connected to a combined inflow of the liquid suspension and the pressurized gas, and one or more tubes mounted within the nozzle for receiving the combined inflow, each tube having a delivery tip extending into the isolation chamber for emitting a high pressure, high velocity jet spray along a delivery axis in response to receiving the combined inflow.

Adapters with light sources for dental air/water syringes
A method of converting an air/water dental syringe of the type having a syringe body and an autoclavable dental tip and lacking illumination into a converted air/water dental syringe adapted to be used with a disposable dental tip different from the autoclavable dental tip and with illumination capabilities includes using a conversion kit having a retainer body and a self-contained module. The syringe body is attached to a proximal end of the retainer body through a proximal opening for providing air and water. A proximal end is inserted into a distal opening of the retainer body. The self-contained module includes a light-emitting diode (LED), a battery powering the LED, and a switch to turn the LED ON and OFF. Light emitted from the LED provides illumination through a light opening on an outer surface of the retainer body generally towards a distal end of the disposable dental tip.
Coupling mechanism for a surgical device
A surgical tool-piece and a coupling mechanism for a surgical tool-piece are provided. The surgical tool-piece is configured to be driving by a driving mechanism. The surgical tool-piece comprises a shaft having a longitudinal axis running from a distal end of the shaft to a coupling portion at a proximal end of the shaft. The coupling portion comprises a driving section comprising at least three indentations located around the circumference of the coupling portion, each indentation being configured to receive a corresponding driving element of the driving mechanism to secure the tool-piece both longitudinally and rotationally.
System and method for making an oral care formulation
Systems and methods for mixing an oral care formulation base with one or more oral care additives in-situ. In one aspect, the invention can be a method of making an oral care formulation for consumer use, the method comprising: a) providing a first dose of an oral care formulation base to an oral cavity of a test subject; b) dispensing one or more oral care additives to the oral cavity in accordance with a first dispensing regimen during the performance of step a), the one or more oral care additives mixing with the first dose of the oral care formulation base in-situ within the oral cavity of the test subject; c) obtaining feedback regarding effects experienced by the test subject during the performance of step b); and d) creating the oral care formulation for consumer use based, at least in part, on the feedback of step c).
Devices and methods for collecting saliva samples from the oral cavity
Provided are methods for collecting saliva from the oral cavity of a mammal comprising: placing a mouthpiece of a device comprising the mouthpiece in the oral cavity of a mammal, the mouthpiece comprising a chamber defined by front and rear inner walls and a base inner wall of the mouthpiece, each of the front and rear inner walls of the chamber comprising a plurality of openings, and a switch disposed in the mouthpiece; and the device further comprising a saliva collection reservoir, a fluid supply reservoir, a pump, and means for directing fluid through said device; activating the switch disposed in the mouthpiece to pump saliva from the oral cavity to the saliva collection reservoir for collection; deactivating the pumping of saliva to the saliva collection reservoir; and subsequently pumping fluid from the fluid supply reservoir to the mouthpiece for cleaning or treatment of the oral cavity.
