Device, system and method for making custom printed products
A device, system and method for making custom printed products. In one embodiment of the method, an image is received from a user device along with a size of for the printed product. Pixel edge detection is performed on the image to generate a plurality of polygons corresponding to all shapes in the image. Polygons below a size threshold are removed. An offset is applied to each polygon. The polygons are combined. A smoothing algorithm is applied to the combined polygon. A set of curves that define the smoothed polygon is determined. A cut path is dynamically generating for the printed product in real-time in dependence on the set of curves and the received size so that the cut path has a shape dependent on the set of curves and a size dependent on the received size. The image is printed on a substrate material for the image product in dependence on the received size and the offset so that the printed image has a printed size equal to the received size less the offset. The substrate is cut in dependence on the cut path.
Apparatus for the manual or machine-made production of a tube-like packaging material and packing station
An apparatus for the manual/automatic production of a tube-like packaging material can include a guiding chute with an opening for ejecting the packaging material from a roll arranged in the ejection position, wherein the guiding chute has an inner contour narrowing towards an opening in an ejection direction, a primary seating for at least partly circumferentially gripping the first roll and for holding the first roll in the ejection position, and at least one secondary seating for receiving of at least a second roll for reloading the apparatus, wherein the secondary seating is movable with a second roll between a passive position in which the second roll is outside an ejection position and an active position in which the second roll is arranged in the ejection position or is displaceable from the secondary seating into the primary seating under (e.g. exclusively under) the impact of gravity.

Window insulation apparatus and method
A window insulation apparatus includes a cylindrical core having opposite top and bottom ends. A plastic sheet has opposite top and bottom ends and is pleated along parallel fold lines that extend parallel to the top end of the sheet to form a folded sheet. Adhesive is applied adjacent the top end of the sheet. The folded sheet is wound around the cylindrical core so that the top end of the folded sheet is near the top end of the cylindrical core. A housing receives the core and the sheet wound on the core. The housing includes an elongate opening from which the sheet can be unwound. A cutting assembly is mounted to the housing substantially adjacent the elongate opening and can be moved parallel to the opening for cutting the sheet that has been dispensed from the opening.

PRINTING APPARATUS
A printing apparatus includes a stacking portion on which a print medium printed by a printing unit configured to perform printing is stacked, a discharge unit configured to discharge the print medium printed by the printing unit to the stacking portion, a passage forming portion arranged facing the stacking portion and configured to form a discharge passage of the print medium together with the stacking portion, and an outlet port located in a downstream end of the stacking portion and a downstream end of the passage forming portion in a conveying direction of the print medium. The passage forming portion includes an opening/closing portion which is displaceable between a closed position for forming the discharge passage and an open position for opening the stacking portion.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING ABSORBENT SANITARY ARTICLES, AND RELATIVE ABSORBENT SANITARY PRODUCT
A method and apparatus for producing absorbent sanitary articles including an absorbent body having two front oblique sides and two rear oblique sides, and two longitudinal elastic bands attached to the absorbent body along said oblique sides, where each of said elastic bands includes a front section and a rear section separated from each other by transverse cuts and joined together by refastenable closure formations.

RECORDING DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR RECORDING DEVICE
A recording device includes a roll holding unit, a transport mechanism, a recording unit, a rear end detector, a cutting mechanism, and a control unit. The roll holding unit holds a roll in which a long medium is wound around a core body. The transport mechanism transports the medium supplied from the roll in a transport direction along a transport path. The recording unit performs recording on the transported medium. The rear end detector detects that all of the medium suppliable from the roll was supplied by the transport mechanism. The cutting mechanism cuts the medium in an intersecting direction intersecting the transport direction at a position between the roll holding unit and the recording unit. The control unit cuts the medium by the cutting mechanism based on rear end detection information from the rear end detector.
