A wood grinding machine may have a vibration detection system including one or more vibration sensors. The vibration detection system may include a trip point representative of a maximum allowable level of vibration. If a vibration signal from the one or more vibration sensors exceeds the trip point, a trip protocol may be executed to automatically stop the grinding process. Related methods are also disclosed.

Embodiments of the present invention pertain to a plant trimming device having a removable cutting cartridge. A direct-drive motor is magnetically coupled to the cutting cartridge. The cutting cartridge houses a blade and a set of rotating blades. Plant parts are cut by the rotating blades across the razor. The cartridge is mounted on rails and has a handle to facilitate the ease of inserting and removing the cutting cartridge. Thereby, an old cutting cartridge is readily removed and replaced by a new cutting cartridge. Furthermore, the cutting cartridge can easily be removed for cleaning and later re-inserted back into the plant trimming device.

Thereby, the rate by which the plant material in the tumbler is processed is faster with a higher tilt or slower with a lower tilt. The degree of tilt is adjustable either manually or automatically via a computer.

A rotary drum trimmer device with one or more dynamic shear bands. The trimming device receives plant material through a hollow interior of a generally cylindrical drum having a plurality of perforations extending through its sidewall. The perforated drum rotates to tumble plant material within its interior thereby exposing portions of the plant material through perforations in the drum sidewall. Disposed against an outside surface of the rotating perforated drum are one or more shear bands. Rotary moment of the drum relative to the shear bans(s) severs plant material extending through both elements. The shear band is configured to move (e.g., reciprocally) relative to the perforated drum while the drum rotates to improve trimming.

FOLIAGE SHREDDER

A foliage shredder that can shred inputted foliage matter into uniform sized particles without pulverizing the inputted foliage matter includes a housing, a shredding axle, a motor, a stand, a digital timer, a power cord, and a lid. The shredding axle is concentrically positioned within a cylindrical compartment of the housing and rotatably coupled to a rotor of the motor. A stator of the motor is externally connected to the housing and electrically connected to the power cord through the digital timer. The lid is terminally attached to the housing thus closing the cylindrical compartment. The cylindrical compartment functions as a container unit for the inputted foliage as the electrically powered shredding axle shreds the inputted foliage into uniform sized particles.
