IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, IMAGE FORMING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM
An image forming apparatus performs printing of a plurality of copies of a document in response to execution of a printing job. Each copy includes a plurality of sheets. The image forming apparatus includes a first ejection tray; a second ejection tray; and a first sensor; and circuitry. The circuitry is configured to: start sheet ejection to the first ejection tray; switch a sheet-ejection destination to the second ejection tray in response to detecting that the first ejection tray is at a full level during printing of a first copy; calculate an amount of vacant space of the second ejection tray in response to completion of the printing of the first copy; and perform printing of a second copy to the second ejection tray or to suspend the execution of the printing job, based on the amount of vacant space.
Sensor assembly calibration
In some examples, a controller receives an indication from the printing system to initiate a calibration. In response to the indication, the controller activates a sensor assembly as part of a calibration operation that comprises emitting a signal toward a calibration surface of the media output accumulator, and detecting a reflected signal responsive to the emitted signal. The controller calibrates the sensor assembly based on the reflected signal, the sensor assembly to detect a level of media sheets, ejected by the printing system, into the media output accumulator.
SHEET SORTING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A sheet sorting apparatus includes a second tray arranged below a first tray detachable from a main body having a first discharge port corresponding to the first tray and a second discharge port corresponding to the second tray, a discharge unit, a tray detecting unit, and a control unit. The discharge unit discharges a sheet toward the first or second discharge port. In a state that the first tray is detached from the main body and the discharge unit discharges sheets from the first discharge port to the second tray and then the first tray is detected as attached to the main body, the control unit selects a discharge destination of a second sheet, subsequent to a first sheet discharged and stacked first after the first tray is attached to the main body, such that the second sheet is stacked on a tray having the first sheet thereon.
Sheet supplying apparatus and printing apparatus
A trailing portion of a sheet drawn out of a sheet roll is discharged with a simple configuration. In a case where a trailing portion of the sheet is drawn out of the sheet roll, a driven roller is brought into press-contact with a core of the sheet roll via the trailing portion, whereby the trailing portion is discharged by utilizing the rotation of the core of the sheet roll.

Image forming apparatus, method for controlling image forming apparatus, and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium in which program is recorded
An image forming apparatus includes: a first apparatus configured to perform punching on a sheet by using a punching member; a second apparatus, including a stacking part on which a plurality of sheets punched by the first apparatus is stacked, and configured to perform binding so as to obtain a bookbinding article in which a binding member penetrates in a ring shape through punched holes of the plurality of sheets; a notification unit notifying information; and a control unit configured, in a case of starting a job using the first apparatus and the second apparatus and determining that a jam has occurred in the stacking part, to cancel the job, and to cause the notification unit to notify that a thickness of a sheet stack stacked on the stacking part exceeds a thickness that enables to be bound by the binding member used by the second apparatus.

Media flag
In one example, a media flag is disclosed. The media flag can rotate between a first position and a second position. The media flag translates parallel with the axis of rotation as the media flag rotates from the first position to the second position.

Ejecting windowed and non-windowed media
An infeed module of a valuable media depository is configured to track media edge detection during ejection processing. When sensors of the infeed module report conditions that would otherwise indicate that media has exited or been retracted back into the infeed module during ejection processing, reporting of the conditions are delayed or modified based on a tracked edge detection status. Thereby permitting the infeed module to perform proper ejection processing on both windowed and non-windowed media regardless of the dimensions present for any windowed portions of the media.
