An image forming apparatus that is capable of preventing discharged sheet adhesion while lowering degradation of productivity. A print unit prints an image on a sheet based on a print job. A fixing unit fixes the image primed on the sheet to the sheet. The sheet to which the image is fixed is discharged to a discharge tray. A counter counts discharged sheet number that is the number of sheets discharged to the discharge tray during a continuous print operation. A controller controls the print unit so as to lower productivity that is discharging sheet number per unit time in response to increase in the discharged sheet number counted by the counter and so as to recover the productivity in a case where the sheets discharged to the discharge tray are removed in a state where the productivity is lowered.

It aims to solve a problem that in a printer including a mixture of sheet feeding devices for which points of view regarding the presence/absence of sheets are different, such as a deck-type sheet feeder and a manual feed tray, appropriate warning displays cannot be presented regarding the presence/absence of printing sheets in the respective sheet feeding devices, and thereby improve the operability of a printing system. In a printing system including an image forming apparatus and a print controller, the image forming apparatus has a deck-type first sheet feeder, a tray-type second sheet feeder, and a sheet quantity notification unit for the sheet feeders, and the print controller has a display unit. The print controller displays a warning when there are no remaining printing sheets in the first sheet feeder, and does not display a warning when there are no remaining printing sheets in the second sheet feeder.

A sheet discharging apparatus includes a first detecting portion provided in an apparatus body and configured to detect a move of a movable member in a state where a movable tray is at an upper limit position in a moving direction of the movable tray, wherein a detection result of the first detecting portion changes depending on a position of the movable tray in the moving direction. In addition, a second detecting portion detects the position of the movable tray in the moving direction, and a control portion, in a case where the second detecting portion detects that the movable tray is at the upper limit position, determines whether a sheet is present on the movable tray based on the detection result of the first detecting portion. When the second detecting portion does not detect that the movable tray is at the upper limit position, the control portion determines that a sheet is present on the movable tray regardless of the detection result of the first detecting portion.

A sheet discharging apparatus includes a first detecting portion provided in an apparatus body and configured to detect a move of a movable member in a state where a movable tray is at an upper limit position in a moving direction of the movable tray, wherein a detection result of the first detecting portion changes depending on a position of the movable tray in the moving direction. In addition, a second detecting portion detects the position of the movable tray in the moving direction, and a control portion, in a case where the second detecting portion detects that the movable tray is at the upper limit position, determines whether a sheet is present on the movable tray based on the detection result of the first detecting portion. When the second detecting portion does not detect that the movable tray is at the upper limit position, the control portion determines that a sheet is present on the movable tray regardless of the detection result of the first detecting portion.

An image processing system includes an image forming unit, an image decoloring unit, a first sheet stacking unit, a second sheet stacking unit, a first detector for the first sheet stacking unit, a second detector for the second sheet stacking unit, and a control unit. The control unit controls a transport path of a sheet discharged from one of the image forming unit and the image decoloring unit.

An image processing system includes an image forming unit, an image decoloring unit, a first sheet stacking unit, a second sheet stacking unit, a first detector for the first sheet stacking unit, a second detector for the second sheet stacking unit, and a control unit. The control unit controls a transport path of a sheet discharged from one of the image forming unit and the image decoloring unit.
