SHEET CONVEYING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A sheet conveying device includes: a sheet discharge roller disposed in a conveying path of sheets so as to discharge a sheet being conveyed to a sheet discharge tray; a conveying unit that conveys sheets on a side of the conveying path closer to an upstream side than the sheet discharge roller; a motor that rotates at a constant system speed during conveying of sheets to drive the conveying unit; a transmission mechanism that transmits power of the motor to the sheet discharge roller to rotate the sheet discharge roller; and a controller that controls an operation of the transmission mechanism, wherein the transmission mechanism changes a circumferential speed of the sheet discharge roller, and the controller performs speed reduction control of controlling the operation of the transmission mechanism to temporarily reduce the circumferential speed of the sheet discharge roller when a sheet is discharged to the sheet discharge tray.
SHEET STACKING DEVICE
The present invention is to provide a sheet stacking device for stacking sheets on which an image is formed, in which an initial operation time at the time the device is turned on is shortened, and, at the same time, the initial operation is simplified. This configuration enables reduction in operation noise and a prompt start at the time when the device is started.

Post-handling apparatus and image forming system
A post-handling apparatus having an aligning tray configured to receive a sheet from an image forming apparatus; an ejected sheet tray located adjacent to the aligning tray; a conveyer configured to convey the sheet on the aligning tray to the ejected sheet tray; and a sheet presser configured to press a sheet previously ejected onto the ejected sheet tray against the ejected sheet tray. The sheet presser presses the sheet previously ejected to the ejected sheet tray when a leading edge of a sheet currently conveyed to the ejected sheet tray falls down on the ejected sheet tray, and is in a receding position receding from the ejected sheet tray when a trailing edge of the sheet currently conveyed to the ejected sheet tray falls down on the ejected sheet tray.

Image forming apparatus with lights that help guide jam clearance
An image forming apparatus includes a first light-emitting unit, a second light-emitting unit, and a remaining-recording-medium detector. The first light-emitting unit is arranged on an outer surface of a recording medium setting unit on which recording media are set, and emits light while the recording media are being conveyed from the recording medium setting unit. The second light-emitting unit is arranged on or near an operating member that is to be operated when a recording medium jammed in a main body of the image forming apparatus is removed. The remaining-recording-medium detector detects presence or absence of a recording medium remaining in the main body of the image forming apparatus. The second light-emitting unit emits light when the operating member needs to be operated, based on a result of detection by the remaining-recording-medium detector. The first light-emitting unit and the second light-emitting unit emit light in different manners.
MEDIUM DETECTION MECHANISM, MEDIUM DETECTION METHOD, AND PRINTING APPARATUS
A medium detection mechanism includes a medium guide that holds a medium and an optical sensor including an irradiation section that emits irradiation light to the medium guide and a light receiving section that receives reflected light. An amount of received light that is received by the light receiving section from among reflected light of external light that enters the medium guide and reflected light of the irradiation light is smaller than or equal to a predetermined value.
SHEET CONVEYING APPARATUS, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND SHEET POST-PROCESSING APPARATUS
The present invention is to provide a sheet conveying apparatus capable of preventing detection error without causing damage on a sheet. The present post-processing apparatus includes a sheet conveying path to convey a sheet as being formed between an upper guide member and a lower guide member for guiding a sheet, and a detection portion including a second sensor as an electrostatic capacitance sensor to detect a sheet being conveyed on the sheet conveying path with output of the second sensor. The second sensor is fixed on a face of an upper guide member on an opposite side to the conveying path and the second sensor and the sheet conveying path are separated by the upper guide member.
SHEET CONVEYANCE APPARATUS AND IMAGE ERASING APPARATUS
A sheet conveyance apparatus comprises a first sheet accommodation unit, a second sheet accommodation unit, a conveyance path and a controller. The first sheet accommodation unit and the second sheet accommodation unit are both provided with a movable guide plate which determines the size of an accommodated sheet. The conveyance path conveys a sheet between the first sheet accommodation unit and the second sheet accommodation unit. The controller carries out a control processing so as to change, in a case in which the accommodation size of the first sheet accommodation unit is changed, the accommodation size of the second sheet accommodation unit to be the same as that of the first sheet accommodation unit.
Printing System with Tray and Remainder Sensors and Method of Controlling Printing System Having Notification Feature
In a printing system, an attached-time remaining sheet amount at detecting attachment of a sheet feed tray to the printing system is detected. And current remaining sheet amount at end of image printing is detected. Then, it is determined whether the attached-time sheet remaining amount is greater than a first threshold value. In response to determination that an attached-time sheet remaining amount is greater than a threshold value and the current remaining sheet amount is less than or equal to the threshold value, a controller executes an alert process corresponding to controlling a display to display an alert. In response to determination that the attached-time sheet remaining amount and the current remaining sheet amount are equal to or less than the first threshold value, the controller inhibits executing the alert process.
